Good cheap food does not need to cost cheap. Service is very fast (about 1-2 minutes from the order to the plate), and very pleasant. But even better is the taste and quality of food. Dogs have a nice snap and are not overcooked while thoroughly cooked as well. They do not have that excessively spicy taste (which is usually the bad quality dogs) but are not bland. Absolutely fantastic homemade relish that has just enough bite to be interesting. Nice spicy brown mustard and a warm bun. Definitely coming back here for more
Very nice trip of hot dogs with good taste. Only 3 topping options available. Hot pepper sprout was not exaggerated and prices were very fair. I wish they had pommes. 7 On was a little warm. A solid food for those who are budgetary conscious. Be warned: space is very narrow. I sat at the far end of the counter and soon had people swarm over me. I just believe people don't cough around me while I have lunch. And the people grabbed me to order, get napkins and put blows on their dogs.
A food facility in the Greater Waterbury area for almost 100 years. Not much has changed and that's good. Their hot dogs are known, but I personally like their burgers better. Simplicity in food. Not a ton of ruffles, but she doesn't need them. Burgers, dogs, chips, milkshakes and ice cream. Only cash, but there is a cash machine on site
I've often heard of Blackies, but never stopped. I drove by the car today so I stopped and tried her famous hot dog with pepper relish and mustard. I was pretty amazing. The place is great and has been unchanged since 1928. Prices are reasonable and people are friendly. I definitely go back.
