Chocolaterie St.Anna No.1

The BEST chocolate ice cream I have ever tried. This little chocolate shop is amazing for a gifts and also to sit and enjoy ice cream or a hot chocolate- do not come in here and not get yourself a treat! The shop is small with a selection of various truffels, chocolate bars, and hot chocolate sturrers. The decor is very old school candy shoppe with a selection of regular goods but also a selection of cheeky products like men 's chocolate bars with 50 's pin up girls, 'ich hasse dich ' (I hate you) hot chocolate sturrers, and liquor filled candies. The worker -and possibly owner- was a charmong older lady with a wonderful personality. The shop was full of people and she took her time to talk...

If you are even close to Heidelberg, St. Anna No. 1 is worth taking time to visit and treat yourself to one of the best chocolate experiences ever. I was Introduced to St. Anna No. 1 a number of years ago by a good friend and not for lack of trying I have not found any chocolate I love better. It was love at first chocolate experience at St. Anna No. 1. Whether I'm traveling to Germany or have family/friends visiting the area I do everything possible to get a care package from St. Anna No. 1.

I visited this shop in December 2014 while on vacation. My biggest regret is buying only one bar; Edelweiss with Vanilla. I did not try it until my return to the US. It was the smoothest chocolate I've ever tasted and absolutely delicious. I visited six cities and bought chocolate bars in all of them, and this chocolate was by far the best! I wish I could buy some mail order, but it looks like I will have to make another trip to Heidelberg, this time filling a carryon with St. Anna Chocolate.

Holy buckets. This place is amazing. I went there 3 times in my 5 day trip in Heidelberg. It deserves way more than 5 stars. The ONE thing you must do (besides buy as much as possible) is ask for a hot chocolate. It's expensive (like £5) and very small, but definitely worth the taste. It's like nothing you've ever tasted before, and probably will never taste again. Along with other reviews, my one regret is not buying enough!! But, it's just an excuse to go back!
