Damascena Coffee House City Centre

A colleague took me here for lunch whilst I was at a meeting in Birmingham, as they knew I was vegan. This is a nice place with a coffee shop at the front and then more restaurant seating at the back. They have lots of vegan options here. I tried the Falafel Platter which I chose to have with Baba Ghanuuj as a dip. Batata Hara which are fried potato cubes topped with a chilli mix sauce with a hint of paprika The highlight were the Mushroom Kibbeh Makliya, which are bulgur wheat croquettes stuffed with a mushroom mix, chilli flakes, walnuts and a herb blend. Great place for lunch, I will definitely go back if in the area. Updated from previous review on 2023-11-18

I’m so glad we found this place on Happy Cow! Some of the best food we’ve eaten. The mixed meze was made vegan and still had options to choose from. We’re probably coming back tomorrow to order different things and try those too!

I am a huge fan of Damascena! If I could survive on falafel and hummus alone, I would choose to do so at this restaurant. The vegan options are clearly marked and the food is absolutely delicious.

I would easily give this restaurant 5 stars if I could. The food is stunning, the prices are affordable, and the quality is consistent.
