Well, someone beat me to the first review. We stopped at Goodfella 's on the way to Bowmanville for dinner with friends. Yeah, you read that right. It was early afternoon, dinner was going to be late, and we thought a slice of pizza would be an ideal thing to tide us over. The young guy who runs the joint said, Those slices have been there a while, how about I make you a deal on a fresh pizza? We declined because we didn 't want that much, and hey, even if the slices had been there a while they were pretty tasty. Having grown up in Niagara Falls, it was the norm to have 'pizzerias ' on every corner of the city, great food. Once I moved, I noticed pretty quickly that pizzerias are pretty much non-existent outside of the Niagara area. So you could imagine my excitement when I passed a place in Courtice called Goodfellas Pizzeria. Could this be? An actual pizzeria? Had to check it out... THE MOST OBNOXIOUS STAFF I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I'll never go back. While visiting family ordered four pizzas to go and wasn't told about their Friday night special (3 free items when you purchase one on a large) even though I had asked if they had any specials over the phone. When I asked about this they claimed they couldn't add the items (which, as a former pizza chef, I know is the easiest thing in the world to do) and more than one obnoxious young employee started telling me it would burn the pizza and actually cost me more. Ordered take-out Can barely see the toppings I ordered: chicken, hot peppers and tomatoes Plenty of cheese which was delicious but hardly any tomato sauce underneath Busy place so it took about 30 mins (although I ordered on the phone and took me 10 mins to get there) then another 30 to wait. The Greek salad at this restaurant was amazing, but unfortunately, the pizza was not up to par. The crust was sweet and chewy, the pepperoni was too big and gross, and the boneless chicken wings were tasteless. The Family combo I ordered did not allow for substitutions, and I was not able to customize my toppings as I wanted. The 2L pop included in the combo was room temperature, and when I asked for a cold one, I was told they didn't have any. The fridge only had cans and small bottles. This pizza place in the area is pretty decent. It offers good and unique pizzas without overdoing it. It has a timeless feel, but could benefit from a more modern touch. They seem to be coasting along, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I would be happier if they tried more experimentation while maintaining the same quality.
The pizza at this restaurant is excellent. It would be great if they opened a location in the north end of Oshawa. The service was friendly and efficient. The new owner has really improved the atmosphere of the shop.

This pizza is delicious. I've ordered it quite often since moving to Courtice in the fall of 2020. The toppings are plentiful, price is great and overall taste is consistent each time.
