Spent 31 years in the military, lived in Japan for one year, lived in Guam for two years (Hawaii West for the Japanese honeymoon) and countless times in Hawaii and other places that have a large Japanese population (either about residences or tourists). For a cost-loss quality Hanoka cannot beat! I'm sure if you double the costs you can get a 5% improvement, but this is also debatable. Whether from the sushi bar or a cooked meal, the food is authentic, well prepared, properly presented and all at a more than reasonable cost for what you are provided. Very NOT recommended. For their pricing, I expected there was a decent meal. This is the most disappointing Japanese restaurant I've ever been, Japanese restaurants always have a good meal or at least a bit decent to eat, but this restaurant hasn't disappointed us. Definitely ruins our day. Never come back here. Can?t believe that an overprice with a bad food exists Japanese restau.
Service was very welcoming, but not good when they were busy. Felt rushed when they were in order. After the food has been taken to our table, our server has not checked for us. Our drinks could have refreshed since they were empty. Had to ask another server for check Plentiful parking. You make you wait outside when you wait for your table * bring a coat pending for weather*
Hanoka is not a chic restaurant. But the freshness and quality of sushi and noodles is incredible! The prices are very reasonable and the food was delicous. Soups are filled with a wealth of seafood and vegetables. The Sashimi and Sushi pieces are good portions. This restaurant has been nearby for many years and is a favorite of the Southern Boulevards!
