Popped in here for breakfast as we missed the breakfast timeslot at our hotel. We were presented with a sheet of paper by a grim-faced waitress, on which we had to tick all the items we wanted, down to a tiny tub of butter charged at 60 cents each. When my tea arrived without milk, I had to request that and a further charge was added to the bill (more expensive than a butter tub! The toast was the cheapest cardboard white, tasteless cheese. Yoghurt and oats arrived in separate dishes, equally unappealing. The water in the teapot was vile. If I could have given this place 0 stars I would have done ! Arrived at 8:30 pm. Unfriendly waiter produced a drinks and Tapas menu. His name was Juan. I pointed out that they advertise pizza and pasta. He shrugged his shoulders and eventually arrived with the full menu. Throughout the meal he was unhelpful and very unfriendly Juan clearly does not enjoy his job. We asked for the bill and politely asked if he could order a taxi. He said he had ‘ordered a taxi’. Great, thank you, 30 mins later I asked him if he would ring the taxi company and find out how much longer it would be. His answer ‘I don’t know, 1 hour, 3 hours. Superb food and service. We stayed at their hotel creta paguera. This is a family run business . We were there feb 16-19. Juan is the one we interacted with mostly. But his dad and brother were ready to do anything needed to make our visit safe and fun. It was slow season time so whole town was just kind of gearing up for coming summer. Room was neat and clean too.
If I could give 10 stars I would. Juan was unbelievable friendly and helpful. Hawai Cafe was very good with food. We tried several dishes and some of them we double down.
