Lucha Cantina Rockford

This is one of my husband and I's favorite restaurants to go out to. Our favorite dish is the hippy burrito which is easily made vegan by subbing for vegan cheese/no cheese. The vegan quesadilla is also good. Other dishes can be made vegan upon request. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We love sitting on their patio in warm months, they have great beer and cocktails to choose from. Their chips, guac, and salsa are great to share (many different salsas to choose from).

I had the vegan queen, and it had nice sweetness in it, well cooked. very tasty. also their beans are a beautiful and unusual mix of black and pinto and were also very good. not many vegan options, but delicious! hard to find when they are from the city, in the second floor of a building next to a beautiful strip shopping center.

you will never starve after you left lucha! I probably eat at least once a week at lucha. I have celiac diesis so I can get her burritos in a bowl. they have just recently added their menu so they now have several vegan dishes plus if they like vegan cheese they have daiya cheese. I usually get it without.

no traditional Mexican restaurant. only one option for me that is both vegan and gluten-free: quinoa bowl. only two vegan entrée items. chips and salsa are extra. we have not taken care of one of the salsas except mango has a beautiful taste

friendly staff and great in the selection of dinner for me. I enjoyed the tacos with portabello mushrooms and my daughter had made the enchiladas vegan
