Grabbed a pizza to-go from Sorrento's on Saturday afternoon. A very solid pie, assisted by their expertise in fresh ingredients and high-quality meats. Quality: Sorrento's is a well-known butcher shop in Long Beach, which has gained a great reputation for its pizza. So when visiting the area, decided to give it a shot. We ordered a Large Pie with Sausage and Mushrooms. My verdict is very good, largely thanks to the high quality toppings. The pizza itself is a bit doughy for my taste, making the corners a tough sell, but everything loaded on top is excellent. Favorite place for pizza and other assorted Italian goodies. Came for a wood burning brick oven pizza, and left with a fresh cut porterhouse, some of the most delicious mozzarella I 've ever had, fresh bread, and some other Italian deli items. Everything was incredible and Sorrento 's is saving me a trip to the Bronx. On to the pizza nice crunch on the crust, and the inside is soft and doughy kinda like a world class bagel. We were moving a friend and needed a quick bite. It's an adorable little Italian market and the right side serves up pizza, calzones, and salad. The guy who served us(cannot remember his name) was awesome, funny, and friendly. Red and white checkered tablecloths make it a cozy little dining area. We were given Shells with bolognese and an escarole and beans appetizer to hold us over and a glass of wine. What a nice touch. However, that filled me up so by the time the pizza came I was basically full. The pepperoni pizza was very nice and larger than we thought. If I'm ever in Long Beach I would come again. Service like this is hard to find.
Not a place to come with a big group but they will do their best to accommodate. They are very big on take out- also. I must say, i have never tried their deli food but everything in the bakery is delicious and the pizza is great. A large pie will feed 10 or more. Had a regular pie and broccoli rabe/sausage pie was recommended. Happy with the Recommendation.
