We hadn't made a reservation, we'd walked over from a nearby village. At the bar we tried to order food and were told they couldn't take food orders as they had a large table coming in in half an hour. We asked if we could order light things that would be cooked before the table arrived? The girl serving us went to say yes but looked at the grumpy man also serving behind the bar and changed her mind. Apparently there were other tables in the restaurant that were eating? We could order food but there would be an hour's wait. Meanwhile another family ordered chips. We asked if there would be an hour's wait for chips? There wasn't. This is one of my favorite pubs. I usually visit during the summer months, but recently enjoyed a wonderful winter afternoon in front of a cozy fireplace, eating a delicious lamb shank and enjoying a cold beer.

Best stay I’ve had in a long time. Amazing welcome and service from John and the team. Couldn’t recommend enough and will visit anytime we’re passing 10/10

Dogs are aloud to sit outside under the covered terrace, but are not aloud inside. Great place and great location.
