I've been working in the area recently and I've been waiting since Sunday to catch this place open .. today was that day , and I ordered the famous Chicken Split .. fried chicken chopped up and served in a dumpling with optional salad cream .... it really superb ... a word of warning though ... its a fair old portion .. you might find you need forty winks after you've eaten it ... just to allow you to digest it! It's a must try !!
The food was great meat was very tender,the curry coat had more bones then meat.the rice and peas was okay.the chicken split was the best thing.the only thing that let it down was one male worker seems to have bad attitude apart from that great would go again and would recommend to any one
This place has to be the most popular Caribbean spot in Manchester. You get the biggest portions at great prices and the food is to die for. Authentic Caribbean cuisine, that is a winner on the weekend and worth the hours drive there and back. Fried dumplings are a must with any meal.
I had chicken split. Which is festival dumpling with chicken in the centre. A West Indian Chicken burger. Chicken Run is a Mancunian institution. Been eating here for over 20 years and have never had anything but fantastic food and service every single time. Cooked down chicken is my personal favourite but absolutely everything on the menu is exceptional. A truly great takeaway.
Jamaican food is basic and authentic. This takeaway captures the essence of Jamaican cuisine perfectly. Once you eat there you will always return. Clean tasty food. The owner is always welcoming and his family are carrying on the tradition.

Well cooked Caribbean food all served with a friendly service. No where else beats the chicken and fish splits !!!!!!
