We have visited this cafe previously many moons ago, before they did this revamp. Noticed an ad for a free coffee if you ordered over $15 of food so thought we would give it a go for breakfast. Has not changed much since the last time we visited except we enjoyed the coffee the first visit, this time we did not. Ordered double shots & it was bitter/ burnt. Basic food menu for breakfast so I went for my staple good old avocado, this came with dukkah & tomato on a slice of ciabatta. Quite a few years since we last went to the Moray Cafe. Back then it was the local "Go To" Cafe but constantly changing owners and deteriorating standards meant we stopped going there. Latest owners are starting to change to Cafe back to what it was. New decor and some "good words" by neighbours and friends convinced us to give it another try. We booked of Saturday night dinner and were not disappointed. Service was welcoming and attentive. Menu was not extensive but there was a reasonable choice we were happy to choose from. For the price you pay for what you get, this place is very poor. Have come here a couple of times and on every experience, have left disappointed. The coffee is over priced at $5 for a 12oz and have never had a decent one. The food is even worse, always dry and you can tell they use poor quality bacon, and yesterday's avocados. It is $15-$18 for literally a price of bread with avo on it or a single thin waffle with about 5 berries and a small dollop of mascarpone. At so many other cafes in Brisbane you get double the amount of food for the same price than you do here. Have decided we won't be coming back here again, unless last resort if we are desperate for coffee.
It was so wonderful to head to the moray cafe on Mother's Day gone to find extra tables set up. We were way too optimistic heading out for brekky with no reservation. But they had prepared for us! Hehe. The mother daughter duo were absolutely grand! You can tell they just work together and it's so nice to see. Best poached egg I have had in ... EVER! Hang onto that new chef! Happy service. My partner and I were in for a bit of Saturday brunch. They were busy, but the staff were really nice as well as really calm. The food and coffees came out quickly, and everything was delicious. Best house made hollandaise I've had. Tell you what, a lot of places in Melbourne could learn a lot from these folks, thank you for a lovely time!
Amazing!! Thick, generous acai bowl (ordered without granola as there's enough crunch from the toasted coconut flakes). I've tried a lot of different acai bowls and this definitely makes top 5. Beautiful cafe with lots of natural light from the huge glass windows. Fresh fruit, fresh service, will be back.
Finally managed to get to The Moray Café for breakfast and we should have made the point in visiting earlier. The staff was amazing in accommodating us (walk in of 10pax) on Easter Monday. The service was first class and food absolutely amazing. Can't wait to get back and try some more of the dishes.

We went for a river walk and came off the river and saw this place open on Anzac Day - friendly service- drink for the dog great coffee
