I usually enjoy dining at Spoons, but my experience last Friday was disappointing, especially on fish and chip day. I selected a table and waited for about 10 minutes before placing my order for the regular fish and chips with a pint for £12, which is a great deal. I inquired about bread and butter, and was told that a slice was included, which was fine. However, the table I was seated at was dirty, so I had to move some empty glasses. There were also multiple tables that had not been cleared. When my food arrived, it was brought by a waiter who looked untidy. Been going steadily downhill over the last year to eighteen months. Staff seem to not care about proper service, tables are not cleared and there is a general lack of cleanliness. Hot drink facilities are usually poor. Cheap and cheerful is no longer cutting it with several new competitors opening up in the town. Sadly, I don't see this branch lasting much longer unless some upgrades in standards and training are made urgently. We are not likely to go back which is a shame because we were weekly visitors.

The management at this restaurant is lacking. The staff is slow to serve and slow to clear tables, demonstrating a complete lack of interest. I believe they will struggle to survive with the opening of the new lounges.

The restaurant was okay, but it was not very clean and lacked personality. I probably won't be coming back. The staff did not seem to care and the tables were still dirty from the previous diners.

Yuk! Pre cooked poached eggs cold in the middle! They gladly replaced them, however, they were exactly the same tasteless and cold.
