Wheatfields Restaurant & Bar

My fiancé and I went to Wheatfields yesterday which happened to be Traver's day at Saratoga Race Track. The town was crowded so parking was a challenge but the people at Wheatfields let us take our time and walk in a little after our reservation- which was so kind of them! The meatball appetizers were phenomenal so I recommend getting them to start as well as the spicy calamari. For dinner, I ordered the steak and I cannot say enough about how much I loved it. My fiancé ordered the pizza which was more like a flatbread.

Appetizer had no flavor. There was an up charge for bread. The chop salad was just okay. My boyfriends chicken Marcella did not have any flavor and my dish which was the spinach and shrimp was actually pretty good but very very rich. I think these guys are still living off their name and their location. Probably a great place to stop for a beer after the track.

Everything was great with the exception of the 2 shrimp cocktails we had for our party of 6. All of of had this appetizer and all of us were not happy, at all! Obviously frozen low quality, had no taste and looked terrible,. Still wishing I had complained but did not want to embarrass my family.

The service was fast and helpful. Our dinners were great and plenty to take home for the next day.

Food was great as usual… Sautéed shrimp with spinach over linguine was perfect
