It is one of the few authentic Japanese restaurants in Long Island. Some of the critics here were not in Japan. In addition to most of the best Japanese restaurants in NYC and the country. Some of the evaluators are used to cheap sushi from other ethnicities, pretending to be Japanese. The only reason for 4 stars is that they don't have university. They only have standard fish. But it's very fresh and I've been on my way for years and I live BTW in town, like Long Islanders like to call it. But I have to do it in LI.
I ordered and shared the sushi sashimi omakase with my brother so the portions were just right. Some of the sashimi such as the sweet shrimp, uni, toro, and yellowtail were really good but others like salmon and trout were mid.
They treat you like family here. Very intimate environment with a wide selection of dishes. Did not find any Japanese restaurant that corresponds to the experience I had here.
