"If you are a few days in Toulouse, please just take the time to go at this newly opened restaurant in Toulouse suburb. La Cour des Mets is located in Ramonville-Saint Agne, just a few miles southeast of Toulouse. The 26-year old Chef, Francois Laigroz, is making a very innovative and really good cuisine called bistronomic, a contraction in French of bistro and of gastronomique. The idea is simple and efficient: you have the choice between two entrées, two hot main dishes and two desserts. They change each day, and they are freshly cooked each day on the spot. To be sure of, just can go and look the kitchen by yourself because the kitchen and guys working in it are visible from the dining room. No microwaves in sight, believe me. The food is really good and the presentation of the different dishes is inspired and surprising. This is an excellent restaurant, and its’ better you go there before it gets its first Star. This could happen in the next years in view of the quality of the food ingredients and of the cooking. My fish was perfectly cooked, a merlan filet with Espelette spices on a very delicate sauce going with a chou farci with meat and rice (10 euros.) The wine list is very interesting because Patricia is a sommelier. But the simple Quart de Rouge was quite good indeed. Prices? Well, 10 euros the hot dish or 13 euros the hot dish plus either an entrée or a dessert. My dessert of the day? A pineapple slice topped with a basil cream … yes basil and pineapple! Great! I payed 25.5 euros for a Kir aperitif, a Quart de rouge, and entrée plat dessert, and a coffee. Oh, cherry on the cake, the coffee is VERY good. On the evening, Francois will prepare for you a surprise meal: the carte blanche menu for 30 euros or 42 euros (with the selection of wines going with.)
