Very solid option in Fairfield. This is a nicely set out space that looked mighty warm and enticing on a cold May morn. The food was certainly good. I had eggs with bacon, avocado and tomato. It was tasty and hit the spot rather nicely. My colleague had the avocado smash, however called, which he found enjoyable. The coffee was lovely here too. There was a steady stream of customers coming in for breakfast or grabbing their morning coffee on the way to Fairfield station across the road. Service was good. We were served quickly and continually with food, coffee and the bill. A very enjoyable experience. I'll be back.
We dropped in for lunch on the way home. It was significant that other cafes were half empty while Fifteen Pounds was almost full. I ordered corn fritters with a side of twice-cooked chips and my wife ordered homemade hash browns. Both meals were excellent. The range of vegetarian choices was very good and there were also a few vegan choices.The coffee was very good, as well.
This place is really popular even though it is up against a lot of competition in the gentrified Station Street Fairfield. We went here for brunch.We got a table out the back which was a bit quieter for conversation. Nice gas heaters kept us warm. Food was excellent coffee good and service friendly.Will be going back
Great coffees and hot chocolates! Baristas are excellent. Breakfast was well presented and serving sizes are appropriate. Reasonable prices and excellent service. Dropped in for coffee this morning which was divine. Such a delicious blend of coffee beans! Service was very friendly and the cafe always seems to be buzzing. I've been here numerous times for breakfast and brunch in the past - each time has been delicious. The menu and specials change frequently.
FIrstly the coffee is great, which it needs to be with Two Fat Monks across the road and the Bean Counter a few doors up. It's food is typically hipster cafe with enough tricked up bits to impress the most avid instagram patrons but also tasty enough to please those who like their food.
Cold, wintry Melbourne Sunday morning. Where for brunch? Try this place, warm - inside and out (heaters), good food, coffee, service and atmosphere. Busy though, so book ahead. One downside, some tables a bit small and uncomfortable.
