2 Spice Guru Authentic Indian Restaurant

After much Googling trying to find a restaurant open on Good Friday, I came across 2 Spice Guru. What a find this was indeed! The food was amazing - so fresh, delicious and authentic. We went with a friend visiting from the UK - and they know their Indian very well. We chose mainly vegetarian this night and certainly weren't disappointed. We started with the Samosa - very different to what I have had before, but much better - nice pastry & firm tasty filling. Hidden away in the corner of a Duncraig shopping centre is this authentic (allowing for western tastes) Indian Restaurant. The range of food is impressive meaning there's something for everyone - vegetarian, goat-meat lovers, spice lovers and those (one among our party) who prefer no heat at all. The food is of good quality, not fatty as can occur with this food. Salt levels a little high in one dish. The menu rates the 'heat' of the food from mild, medium, hot or 'X Hot'. They are being polite to the locals as these are definitely western ratings and most people could tolerate what they call hot, though we didn't try the 'X Hot'. Next time.. The food was delicious, well presented, and the service attentive, especially by Divya. Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. We had a mix tasting platter to start, this was huge, followed by Chicken Tikka Masala and Malbari Prawn & Scallop Curry, plain rice and plain naan. All were delicious. Restaurant is licensed with BYO wine only. Corkage is reasonable by the bottle. They offer take away (can order on line) and catering as well. Well worth a visit.

Fancied a nice curry - couldn't be bothered to cook and thought we would give 2 Spice Guru a go.Great value and good flavour we went for the special menu for 2, plenty of food for 2 adults and 2 children!! The food is excellent. Don't really need to say more.... ample amount of meat to sauce ratio with their curry dishes. Poppadoms are crispy not oily, naan bread flexible and tasty and the raita is minty and fresh. Highly recommend especially if you are looking for an Indian meal the whole family can enjoy.

Went with a group of friends. The food was very tasty with a good level of spice and was enjoyed by all. We all left with full bellies and it only cost around $25 per person for the food. They allow BYO (wine only) and everyone brought their own drinks although the drinks menu is quite reasonably priced.

We popped in for a takeaway. We had chicken jalfrezi, rice, Bombay potatoes and roti. The food was ready within 15 minutes, service was great and the cost reasonable. The curry was great, tasted homemade. Well done!

Very nice food, lovely staff. The menu is very easy to read and there is a good selection to choose from. I would recommend this restaurant.

Never disappoints has been awhile and menu is evolving. Find it hard to choose because it's all so good. Lamb Chops are great
