2941 is a top notch experience overall. Of my and my wife 's dinners, the duck, the rib-eye steak, the potato puree (foam), the Parisian gnocchi, and the side order of crimini mushrooms were all excellent, with the potato puree being fantastic. The only miss was the Caesar salad which seemed more put together for artistic presentation than for pure eating enjoyment. Bartenders were great during a before meal cocktail. Waiter was efficient and pleasantly aloof. The big space is both cool and not optimum as in the end I 'd prefer a more intimate dining experience but as a change of pace it was cool. Last night we celebrated my husband’s birthday. The whole evening was perfect from the cordial reception to when we were seated. We had the pleasure of Jelio walking us through every step of our five course evening. His enthusiasm of our evening to celebrate was heartfelt. His detailed explanation of each plate came from an extraordinary level of confidence in what we were about to enjoy. He was sot on with my wine. Jelio had the very thoughtful and supportive Francisco clearing away each course to ready us for the next plate. It’s clear this young man takes his job very seriously. Three of us had the chef’s menu. Each course option included a vegetarian option. The artichoke course was delightful, as was the lump crab option. The foie gras was also enjoyed. We chose an 11-year-old Washington State Cabernet that was lovely. All told, the waiter and som were knowledgeable, and the service was attentive. The sauces were varied, including a red sauce on a fish dish. All told, the night was quite enjoyable.
Going to 2941 is always a delightful experience. The menu changes frequently to feature seasonal ingredients. On this occasion, we enjoyed dishes like wild ramps, morels, asparagus, sugar snap peas, and fiddlehead ferns. We often choose 2941 for special celebrations, and this visit was no different. My wife and I absolutely adore this restaurant and decided to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary here. 2941 is one of the most stunning restaurant venues in the D.C. metro area. Our dinner, which was the chef's tasting menu, was exceptional as always, and the service was flawless, just as we expected. We highly recommend dining here.
We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The food was amazing, especially the sea bass which was both delicate and delicious. Our server, Cat, was fantastic. Although the noise level was a bit high at times, we were still able to have a conversation at our table. I would definitely come back again.
We ordered the tasting menu, and it was outstanding!! We had a birthday so the menu had Hapoy Birthday printed on it!! Nice touch!! Can't say enough wonderful things about the food! Compliments to the chef! Service was attentive and outstanding!
