dreadful place to dinner! when my children are sick tomorrow from the chicken pasta (what san remo fattyucine plus button mushrooms and frozen chicken swim in cream for which they $24) I will change my review. the ribs tasted strange and we had assumed that they served the half that was charged by the little lacing, but the full plate $37 for 4 pieces.) drive them on the road and avoid this dingy single-frier cold hole with a waitress without interest or notice and a cook that is clearly incompetent.
Enjoyed a Sunday brekkie here with a group of 6.
This is a lovely spot overlooking a park just across the road from Canberra Centre (so plenty of parking).
Service was v.good - friendly and competent.

Our table had plenty of room and was surrounded by lots of cool cook books etc that you can buy if you are so inclined.
Everyone seemed to enjoyed their food and it was good value.
A really nice space that brings some much-needed flavour back to the eastern side of Civic. These guys do great coffee, and a lot of their food is sourced from local suppliers (think Lonsdale Roasters, Adore Tea, Canberra Urban Honey). Try the baked eggs with cherry tomatoes, bacon and double brie!

Disinterested staff told me waiting 20mins for a chai latte was normal as it took time to make.
If you have time, don't mind average attitude and are prepared to wait...knock yourself out - this place is for you.
Otherwise, Canberra has tonnes of hip quality Cafes with good good, coffee and service ;)

Terrible service, had to wait for more than 20 minutes for my sparkling water. The food and coffee wasn't amazing as well. My niece ordered a coffee and it was lurk warm at best. The eggs were all over cooked and the halloumi was dry and chalking. Would never go back again.
an ordinary caffe during the day, but charged the same price as a fine restaurant in the night for some not even delicious dishes. the only thing I like is the decor, but no smile from the staff and eating is super blanching.
Great coffee! Yum eggs, great mushrooms and spinach. Delish muffins. Quick service. Nice inside. For some reason it's also quiet. Across from a pretty park and close to the Crown hotel. Food 4.5/5 fresh and nice.
Stopped in the Crowne Plaza. This place is just round the corner opposite the park. Great coffee shop. Really good coffee, good service and you just have to try the pancakes for breakfast - So yum

Nice atmosphere and nice coffee. The staff are mostly friendly.
Unfortunately they charge $2 to put ice in your long black, so not really a great option on hot days over the summer!
Fantastic breakfast. Sweet atmosphere. Yummy white chocolate hot chocolate. Bacon and egg roll to die for with a delicious sauce served on a wooden board.
