Went to celebrate our anniversary on Tuesday night. The bar section was closed, so main dining room was quite busy. We were seated in high trafic area for waiters, next to the cutlery and tablecloth storage island. Our seats were bumped into a few times by staff during the evening. The wine list has few selections below $100. We selected our choice (just below $100) and the waiter came back to inform us they had none left. A higher priced choice was suggested by waiter, but I made another selection. He came back later to say they had none, but again offered we consider a higher priced selection, which we declined. We hosted a party at 40 West back in the fall of 2015 for 100 people. The meal was outstanding, the party planner was most helpful, the ambiance was chic and the staff were increadibly professional. Since then we have gone back for many special occasions including the recent celebration of the grand parents`61st wedding anniversary. We came out of 40 West that night saying it really is the best restaurant in Montreal. Steaks are perfectly prepared to everyone`s liking, the sea food is succulent, the salads and appetizers are mouth watering. It`s a very classy restaurant and they do an exceptional job of making sure their patrons are happy. Bon Appetit!
One of the best lunches I have ever had!! The grilled beet salad with grilled halloumi cheese was out of this world as a starter..followed by the perfectly cooked filet mignon with goat cheese and garlic mashed potatoes..followed by the very decadent chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream! (VERY) Well worth the 7 minute wait for it to be perfection! The staff were super friendly..super accommodating...with great service!
I come here at least 2 to 3 times a year. I had a a green salad and salmon with spinach, both were very delicious. For dessert the waiter recommended a nice brownie ice cream and honestly it was decadent! Great lunch in great company. Always a busy restaurant for lunch as there are a lot of companies in this area so lots of business meetings! Today they didn't disappoint.

This is a pleasant space with high ceilings and quiet decor. We had the 12oz filet steak and it was one of the best we've ever had. Fantastic meat and prepared to perfection. We had some liqueur that was surprisingly reasonably-priced, and the desserts were excellent too. We'll be back.
The 40 Westt is one of the best steak houses I have ever visited. The venue is huge. I was fortunate in my day of visit to enjoy my dinner with the presense of a jazz band.The food (stakes) was awesome.The people know their game. I highly recommend a visit if you are in Montreal.
Have eaten here numerous times over the past 10 years. Tremendous cuisine with the best in grilled meats and sea foods. Great wine selection with an amazing live bands (depending on the nite). Best steakhouse on the west island and one of Montreals best.
Not much to say, THE BEST... you can't match the quality and price to any other steak house in Montreal. Staff is really friendly. Shrimps steaks oysters lobster tails wow wow wow, I'm hungry thinking about it. A must try!! You won't regret it one bit.

Although this restaurant had its down at one time but I guess the steak quality and the menu choices are great. Just the waiter I had was not the best to have, will not take it on them as it does happen from time to time
Great atmosphere when you go ask for Dave as your sever The 40 @ 40 menu has plenty of choices .if you want a great steak buy it at the Boucher there we will definitely go back !
