Well previous to September 15, 2021. I would have had a favorable review. Been eating here since 1980's on. New ownership made unfavorable changes in the food but the fish still remained the same. This day the oil was so dirty the fish was not edible opened it up and the fish was dark brown and dried up, wish I took a picture. Went back in quietly with the platter and asked if they would redo the platter because I was not able to eat it. OMG, what a nasty young new owner, not surprised if the business does not last much longer. They would not accommodate I will never go back again, don't trust the fish or the oil it is cooked in. I've been a good customer for some years now. I rated them a 1, not so much for the food, but for the disrespect and the unpleasantness of their workers behind their fresh seafood market. The food is hot, not seasoned much, but they give you enough. Not fancy. My question is why are the owners allowing employees to say derogatory remarks to customers, especially women, if they come in alone. Now their women workers at the fresh seafood counter are joining in. What is their problem? I stand waiting for food as a paying customer while I am called very insulting names. The manager does not seem to care. I don't get it. Sometimes the food taste like I'm eating cardboard, so again, I don't get it...
The Managers and Staff of this place actually treats their customers without any respect at all and they actually rude and no manners.. I repeat, they are rude and no manners. They handed my wife the wrong order and when she complained they started screaming at her like a piece of garbage and telling her Get out of here and do not come back. We do not want to see your face again . What an ash hole! whoever you are. You should not treat your customers that way and you did this in front of other customers and embarrassed her. Oh my goodness, it was fantastic! It was my first time there and they specialize in selling fried fish platters. We all ordered the fried scallops with fries and it was delicious - fresh, sweet, and tender. I definitely recommend it. Once you pick up your food, you can take it across the street to the marina where you can sit and relax by Raritan Bay. I saw other reviews mentioning difficulty reaching them by phone, but we had no trouble and our order was ready within 20 minutes. It was a Saturday around 6 o'clock. By the way, you get approximately 16 scallops (enough for 2 dinners).

First time here. Wow great fresh seafood and reasonable prices. We vacation in New England and have had tons of fried seafood. Keyport’s was just as good, even better than Cape Cod, Boston and Maine platters we have had, and much cheaper. The soft shell crabs were meaty and perfectly cooked. Clam strips were average. Scallops were big and juicy. Shrimp cocktail was one of best we have had. Huge portions. Krinkle fries were perfectly cooked and the coleslaw was delish. It’s take out only but you can eat on pier across the street. Awesome experience. We will be back!
We lived in NJ from 1982 4. We loved eating at the Keyport Fishery delicious food, friendly service and great atmosphere. Nostalgic to see the photos. Nothing has changed since we were there and I am sure it is as good as ever. Go there and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. We have been loyal customers of Keyport Fishery for many years and have always enjoyed their delicious fish platters and Cole Slaw. Despite having lunch elsewhere, we decided to purchase some scallops and grouper to cook at home. When we called ahead, we were informed that these items were not prepared food and needed to be picked up in person.
The employee who took my order over the phone was extremely rude and even cursed at me because of a mistake I made with my order. I do not recommend eating at this restaurant. Update: The restaurant called me back just to tell me off. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable.

Paid for 2 dinners and got 2 sandwiches, called back when I got home and they said nobody else called about there order was wrong. You won't see me there any more. Bad service.
CASH ONLY !!!! NO SEATING !!! I ordered 16 O/Z soup was good not excellent. and halibut and fries not a piece of halibut but flakes wrapped in batter $30 not a good value
