Booked for lunch on a rainy day. Taxi arranged by hotel. Food and service average at best. Gave waiter our hotels taxi card and he tried to persuade us to use their own company. We explained that we needed to use the same taxi as we hadn’t paid for our first trip. Taxi arrived and once we were inside we realised it was not the one we had requested. The waiter had also kept the original taxi’s card. Very disappointed by underhand method just to get a kickback from their favoured company. The waiter spoke perfect English. Now having to make special arrangements to pay for first taxi. Very unusual to experience this kind of dishonesty in Portugal.
The owner was gracious and allowed us inside with our dogs, normally not allowed in portugal. Our waiter was also friendly and good. Unfortunately the food was really bad. I was disappointed that the fish with noodles has zero flavor. Just macaroni and fish pieces in with to.ato sauce. Really disappointing. My friends chicken dish she said was good. I had to ask for peri peri just to add flavor. Sorry for customer service great for food very bad
We enjoyed a nice lunch here. The owner was there, an older gentleman and he spoke to us at length after we had mentioned we had eaten here in 2010 and 2015. The food was good, other than I found the fish stew a bit too salty for my taste. Service was very good with friendly staff. Slightly better prices than the nearby beachfront restaurants.
owner (old man) gave us a very warm welcome locals eat there reasonable prices saw a dead cockroach in the toilet food had no taste, I couldn’t bring myself to have even half of my dish waiter (young man) was impatient and curt even though he spoke good English Lowest rating due to poor attitude and lack of hygiene. We felt welcome as soon as we walked into the place. The service was awesome and personal. The food oh my god it was soooo good. The prices weren't bad either. Just a very good experience had. Well worth coming to experience some Portuguese culture. Obrigado/ Obrigada
Amazing unassuming little place. Established in 1969 and you can see why! Owners warm and friendly and staff friendly. Great fresh fish and fish stew was large and delicious. Really reasonably priced and great value. Definitely recommend!
Stumbled across this place only for a drink, and ended up having lunch also! Amazing fresh food, lovely atmosphere on a quiet sunny street and the staff was so welcoming and friendly, would definitely recommend!
