I took my parents here after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. They live in France but had not heard from anyone they knew who had been here.On taking our orders, I could see that the waitress had become distracted whilst taking my order. Even as she left the table, I wasn't entirely sure she had taken my order at all. However, I foolishly hoped for the best!Unfortunately, when the meals did arrive, I received the wrong main course.After pointing this out to her, she did apologise, but did not offer any sort of reduction in the bill. We ate here on the last night of our holiday. We were tempted in by the menu on the blackboards outside, so I popped in and booked ahead (always worth doing if one of you has any special dietary requirements - I am vegetarian). The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, and also spoke excellent English which meant I could give my brain a rest from thinking in French! We chose a 50cl bottle of Cotes du Rhone which turned out to be delicious, and all of the food followed suit. It was all very fresh and quite obviously homemade, but with a real artistic flair. Babeth is the owner and cook. The menu is small but well constructed. We loved the fact that you feel Babeth is cooking just for you and you can see her working in the kitchen, playing good music while she cooks. She is helped by Tiffany who served us with friendliness and efficiency. The wine list was good but not extensive. All the food is locally sourced and Babeth lists her suppliers. We really enjoyed our meal at this small, intimate restaurant. It is best to make a reservation as it is small. We have been eating in the restaurants in and around La Chatre for several years now and this restaurant owned by Babeth is a delight. She cooks only fresh and most of the time local produce and her food is always with a different twist. The lady that served us at our table was very knowledgable about the wines and was able to make a couple of good recommendations that went with the food very well. We were aware that most of the clientelle last week were mostly local residents and that made a really good atmosphere. The opening hours are varied and that is the only reason that we haven't been able to eat there before. We will certainly make sure that we get the opening hours right in future. This was not our first visit to A la table de Babeth as my wife's parents live in on the outskirts of La Chatre in Briantes and we regularly eat at this lovely restaurant. The food is fresh and comes with a well thought twist on classic themes. The waitress was knowledgable about the food and wines on the menu, spoke wonderful English and was very charming. The restaurant is not large which adds to the charm and character of the place. Absolutely fabulous restaurant where Mrs Babeth is the most amazing chef/ cook. Using locally sourced foods to provide the most delicious meals. Supported by a truly lovely lady front of house who knows her wine. My husband and I first went here to celebrate our house purchase in a nearb hamlet, we returned to take my parents when they came to stay with us..!We have now been three or four times and always come away happy. The atmosphere is charming, with not many tables it is a special find. If ever in this town it must be tried!

A great meal in a very charming space with lovely service. It was the first visit for my wife and I, our son has been there several times as he lives nearby. Everything served was of very high quality, seasoned beautifully. Wine list was short, but complete enough for anyone to be able to make a selection, and very reasonable. Smoked Salmon starter as well as the Pate were both spectacular. Server was warm and efficient, and the Chef / Owner is obviously very very talented. The food at Babeth is truly wonderful.

This is the second time we have been to A la Table de Babeth and we had a beautiful meal, the service was excellent, the waitress new exactly what wine to recommend.
