I visited with my husband and 3 year son. We were looking for a non-touristy restaurant in the old town and was glad to stumble across La Cantinetta via a quick TripAdvisor search. The feels like a family run establishment, that focuses on the quality of it’s dishes rather than offering a huge choice. The food was excellent. My lamb was tender and melt in the mouth. There was only one choice for my son which was a winning combo of homemade meatballs in tomato sauce and pasta. He found it delicious and so did we!! All in all an excellent meal at a very reasonable price in a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The place is very nice. Completely surronded by plants it's even doesn't look like you are in the city centre but in a comfy country side mannor. The staffi is kindly and can speak both english and french, and a bit of italian like everywhere else in Corsica. The food is good, but something could be upgraded, for example i will avoid to serve boiled pasta as side dish. Price was good, we did not althought appreciated the fact that you can only pay cash, no debit or credit card are accepted and in 2021 it's not good at all.
On a recommendation we hit the Cantinetta as we wanted for one eat local and not as a tourist. Well that was it we had “Fresh Pasta with Langoustines viande de porc” Maybe I wan not lucky and the cook gave me just the grease which was left, but not pleased at all not even the portion was an ok The pasta was quickly done without any taste..fresh is another definition It is a shame that during the high season it is all about the quick money, rather than delivering good quality which would be the key promotor for this region
Semi outdoor dining, a simple natural healthy menu and lovely service. Probably the nicest restaurant we have been to in PV so far for the food ambience combination. Nicely convenient for the main square and streets but set back from them just enough too. Strangely the laid back charming atmosphere reminded us of Bali. Highly recommended.
