I recently visited for a meal with my husband. The menu’s are still online with a QR code so it took us some time to get them up as 4g in the area is terrible. I personally don’t like being on my phone at the...table but I understand it’s due to covid. We ordered a veggie chow main and salt and pepper chicken with rice. The food came out in 2 minutes and absolutely steaming hot. I’ve absolutely no idea how it was so hot given the short amount of time we waited. Sadly my chow main wasn’t nice. It was a plate of packet noodles that were still crunchy with a mountain of vegetables just piled on top, almost sliding off the plate. I have been using this restaurant for about 12 years. Food is good and staff are generally very nice. However, I went in this evening about 7.30pm 8/10 and it was clearly very busy. I approached the counter and one of the managers( not Steve)...came over. He shouted at us to sit at a table( not a table for serving but a waiting area). I asked how long a take away would take and he said about 15 to 20 mins. So I instead asked him if I could have a table for 2. He shouted loudly to sit in the waiting area. Visited this restaurant many times and food general good, however tonight’s experience wasn’t great. Courses where a little bland and set menu underwhelming, we ordered a £28per head set meal only for the satay chicken to be dry, only 6 pancakes (3 each for the...duck course), the main course was beef which was chewy and had to take out every piece I attempted to eat…so much so I left the meal…..I was ready to complain but we where in a rush to get to the cinema, we paid £40 cash and the difference on card and left, only for a staff member to come chasing after us outside to say he hadn’t put the right amount in the machine and wanted me to call back in to pay the extra £1.12 (he missed off)...
Been going to this restaurant since it first opened and even supported them by ordering takeaway during lockdown, however I won't be bothering again. Granted service hasn't been great on the last two visits but we've preserved, putting the issues down to a blip. we ate here last night at the end of a small business meeting to be honest that the place was very quiet, which is a shame, as the staff and eating are great. we had a banquet that seemed to go on for ever, eating. quality, drinks and personal were all a1 long time since my last visit, I will make sure my next visit is not too far away. keep the great work
We were visiting locally and booked a few hours ahead of arriving. Needn't have bothered despite it being a Friday night. Despite being in a enclosed area of the cinema, and upstairs the restaurant was cold and heard a few customers commenting along those lines....order some starters to share and a couple of mains. All very good and no complaints.
I wanted to give up abakus after a long time, but it was absolutely fabulous! Eating and personal were amazing, service was top class my grand says he wants back to his birthday in april, personally think we are going back! thanks to that. brilliant contributors at abacus we now have the best Chinese food in horwich!

wow this place was amazing that the waitress my intolerance and they taught me thanks to so much that they don't get this in many restaurants! eating was amazing delicious very good customer service friendly staff
