I used to enjoy my meals here, but not anymore. I’ve tried three times to get a hot breakfast, and yesterday was no exception. I asked the waitress to ensure my food was hot (I ordered the farm hands breakfast) and mentioned that the last time I was there, the sausage was only browned on one side and barely warm, which forced me to send it back to be heated. However, when my meal arrived this time, it seemed like it had been sitting in a warmer just like before. This is a place where I take my clients from work. There are many types of foods, quite an array of variety actually. It is true that there is a lot of choices for this restaurant, and the food tastes home cooked. The ambiance is a bit crowded but for most of my visits, I just asked the staff to accommodate for my needs that day (more room for wheelchairs, etc) The place is wheelchair accessible but one must be handy with driving one to maneuver in and out of the restaurant. If you find yourself in Cranbrook, this restaurant is a solid choice for breakfast. I'm quite particular when it comes to breakfast, and this place managed to satisfy my preferences without too much hassle. Admittedly, the decor is a bit dated, and you may have heard stories about when your grandparents dined here, but there aren't many places in town that really get breakfast right. I was pleasantly surprised by their coffee, which I enjoyed. I would rate this place a zero if I could. I walked in with my mom, and the lady asked if we needed a table. We said no, that we wanted takeout. When we asked if we could take a menu outside for our seniors in the car to look at, she said no. I even offered to stay inside while my mom took a menu out, but she still refused and claimed that her menu was worth $75. A good family restaurant for a good price. Staff are friendly, kids get the usual kids menu, an activity page and crayons to keep them occupied. Mine got the Mac and cheese, and fish and chips, both of which got the thumbs up. The steak sandwich was quite good. Food was ready faster than expected. It's a family restaurant where you know what you're getting and they deliver exactly that. No frills but decent food at a reasonable price.
I ordered takeout for my elderly parents and myself. Unfortunately, their meals were practically inedible, and my steak sandwich was so tough that we had to throw everything away. I emailed the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction, but I didn’t receive a response. That’s why I’m writing this review. I won't be returning.
I LOVE this place; excellent service, DELICIOUS food, and a very nicely laid out building. I don't know what to recommend to you, but I do know that this place isn't for everyone. Try the sticky toffee pudding after the meal, though.

Ate here once last year while I was pregnant, and won't be back. There's nothing like coming for a breakfast pregnancy craving and getting under-cooked, overpriced food, with a hint of shabby service. No thanks.
