Nice place. Very homey. Made you definitely have the feeling of being at someone’s home. Decorated nicely for Christmas. Loved the big doggie of course. The only issue I had was a nasty patron who yelled at all of us to not close the door behind us. Which out of respect when you leave you shut the door. At that point I felt very uncomfortable I couldn’t wait to leave!!
This restaurant has a fascinating history, having been in the same family for six generations! It offers a charming local atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time by 50 years. You definitely owe it to yourself to give it a visit!
We went here as part of the Wild Women of Detroit Historical Tour and it was awesome! Be sure to ask the owner for a tour and watch the video she has put together on the history of the place. VERY interesting!!

A ancient and historical neighborhood bar. The staff was wonderful and made us feel like it was our neighborhood too!
Nice place. Friendly bartender, good drinks. Pet the dog, enjoy a cold one. Cash only. Cigar lounge inside as well.
