Abuelo's Mexican restaurant had a gate in the front which was nice. I thought that the patio was big and great to sit out once it gets little less Texas heat weather. I enjoyed the different salsas that they give you in the beginning. They had a spicy salsa with a chunk of tomato. They had a green very mint and pineapple sweet salsa. Probably used tomaillos as the base and they had a regular salsa which was refreshing with thin chips. I got Grande which is a huge plate but great for sharing for two. The food was average, and the service was rather slow, leaving much to be desired. It’s a nice venue, and we were seated in the bar area, but our server didn't check on us very often and was unresponsive to our inquiries. They do offer a trio of salsas, including a tasty pineapple green salsa, which was a highlight. I would rate my meal a 6.1 out of 10. Overall, I don’t think I would make a special trip to come back.

My husband and I had lunch at Abuelo's today (11/13/22). My husband had the taco/enchilada plate and I had the Mexican stack. They were both delicious meals! We were also served 3 different salsas with chips for an appetizer. The salsas were also delicious! Our waitress, Elizabeth, was one of the best waitresses we have ever had! She did a fantastic job! My husband and I highly recommend Abuelo's!
Food was good and the wait wasn't bad. But the server was lackluster to our table for some reason. There was a table next to us she had and she seemed much more cheerful. She didn't seem kid friendly and acted like she didn't want to be there. There may always be something else going on but that does not mean the guests should feel that same vibe.
Delicious isn't even a good enough word! From the chips and salsa to the drinks and finishing with the food all of it was great. This was my first time coming and I can't wait to come back.
Food was excellent! So glad that she had a gluten-sensitive page on the menu! Update: 11/15/2022-Barbecue Shrimp Salad was very good from the gluten-sensitive menu! Very glad I have it!
