I am so happy that this place was recommended to me by my brother. This is THE BEST seafood restaurant I’ve been to in the US. The fish is fresh. The service is great and the people are so nice. We met the owner who was so friendly and helpful. He explained the best way for each fish to be cooked (eg. fried, grilled, breaded, singari, Egyptian radda). We ordered fried and grilled shrimp, grilled scallops, fried whitening, sea bass singari, boori Egyptian radda and brown rice. If you come by this area, I highly recommend that you try this restaurant.
What a delightful experience at this Egyptian seafood restaurant in Astoria, NY! The service and food were absolutely fantastic. After hearing so many recommendations about this place, I happily traveled three hours to get here, and it was definitely worth it. Even in the middle of winter, it was a comfortable 55 degrees to sit outside. The atmosphere was family-friendly and clean, and the service was quick, although the space was a bit limited. If you enjoy seafood, I wholeheartedly recommend this spot!
My husband and I recently dined at Abuqir, and we enjoyed every single bite of our meal. We ordered the baba ghanoush, pita, Greek salad, fried shrimp, calamari, and grilled shrimp, and everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. It was great to see and order from the counter showcasing the fresh seafood. The service was attentive without being intrusive. This will definitely become one of our favorite spots! Highly recommend!
The food was not bad, has a bit of citrusy taste on the grilled shrimps, very interesting. Recommending calamari For us, we didn’t really like how quiet it was, the owner seems a bit cold.. maybe he’s a joyful guy, just not on that day.. Since moving to the States in 2017, I've had the best seafood here! It's incredibly delicious, fresh, and clean. The staff is also very friendly. The first two pictures showcase my favorites: the Tajin shrimp and calamari. Don’t miss out on the large shrimp featured in the second photo. Highly recommended!
Flavors are fresh and delicate! Nice seafood selection and everything was cooked really nicely. Portions are just right and the prices are reasonable. Amazing feta salad and pita as well!
Absolutely delicious! I had never tried branzino before, and it was amazing. The homemade pita paired with the homemade hummus and baba ganoush was fantastic.
