Really nice place however our experience this evening was one of the worst I've had when having a meal out which spoilt birthday celebrations, the waitress just didn't listen to what we wanted, sauces ordered came out when meal was half eaten as it was only like warm in the first place, had to query the bill 3 times as extras added, we proceeded to leave after paying the price for the waitress to come running out in the carpark as she hadn't charged the correct amount on the card machine which was a total embarrassment!
Live band was good but the staff we under experienced, rude and have no people skills. The bar manager was the only one running around doing anything. The girl who took our order sat chewing gum whilst talking and when we queried where our condiments were she turned to her colleague and said we ‘give him chance he hasn’t even left the kitchen yet’. This is rude and not expected from our local pub which used to be so nice and friendly
Held a wake at the Admiral Rodney, using the function room just off the beer garden. Hannah and Philipa were brilliant, no request was too much hassle. The food was great, service brilliant, good value for money, and everyone said how good the event was. The function room was clean, well laid out and the decor worked perfectly for what we wanted.
Great local pub in Calverton with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Several log burner fires are usually lit when it gets chilly. Great beer with a couple of taps rotating every couple of weeks. Food served throughout the day with a decent standard menu plus 8-10 specials which frequently change. Roasts on a Sunday.
Decent village pub. However, the new owners are a bit greedy. Once they took over, a pint of pale ale went up from £3.80 to £5.25! Also while they've made effort with the redecoration, white walls and harsh white lighting make it feel like a doctors waiting room, not a village pub.
Nice locals pub. We use it as a social meeting point every month for a local advanced motorcycle riding group. Decent food and beer. Friendly staff. Been in tonight, it's under new management. We had a really nice meal with some decent beer. Recommended.
Not your average Pub , atmosphere was fantastic and the bar menu was unreal , I ordered a few things to share with my friends and was out of this world …… defo be visiting again :
Very very smart place too eat or drink .. Main doors too the side were beer garden is side of carpark .
Lovely pub with a great outdoor space and great decor and staff. Always a good pint
