Very interesting place right next bowling alley visible from the Kipling heading north however not visible from north till passed the Kentucky st which is where the entrance located.The lunch specials are good way to try out.Tried Denver best chicken with Jollof rice .The Jollof rice has good favor, and chicken favor wasn 't bad.However, both the chicken and rice was very dry on the outside and felt like they were left in the air for quite some time.The beef samosa has crisp and right textures, beef seasoning was a bit gaming. Absolutely incredible experiences every time. Wonderful pricing, and the people working here were incredibly kind and helpful and clear. I’ve owned my own restaurant in another major city, and I have to say that this place blew me away with their standards for quality and service. I took a while to order because of the vast menu, and I accidentally missed the lunch period. I was informed that I had to choose from different options, which I understood as a reasonable policy, and I made a different selection (I tried a few different items) and was incredibly pleased. What an AH-MAZING experience. My daughter and I are visiting Denver for the weekend and this restaurant was our list to visit. I 'm SOOO happy I did. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS, hot (temperature), well seasoned and the flavor profile was out of this world. The owners are a very sweet couple and they definitely put smiles on our faces. This is some of the most flavorful and interesting food I’ve had in Denver! The curries and stews were all incredibly delicious. The oxtails (in the spicy jerk curry) were cooked well. Regarding the spicy items, “When we say spicy, we mean spicy!” (said the owner) because they’re certainly not messing around when it comes to habaneros. If you order hot at a Thai or Indian restaurant, though, you will be extremely happy. I can’t wait to come back!
I showed up a lil cranky bc we were road-tripping and I misheard them over the phone about how we should NOT order pickup thru DoorDash so when I arrived our food wasn’t ready (so make sure to only order pickup thru their website). They took my order and had it ready in no time when it was close to closing. We ordered Akwaaba For Two dinner. It was more than enough food and very delicious. Perfect way to end the day ?
This place is fantastic, the people who own it are so wonderful and funny. My sister took me for my birthday on Monday and I've been missing african food and let me tell you their food is outstanding! If you like spice their food won't disappoint if you want delicous african food you HAVE to come here their food is worth every penny! If I lived closer I would definitely order out more!!
Fufu brought the heat! Wow! Never tried African food before and tried the plantain fufu and samosas. The location of the restaurant was off a main road in a shopping center. Ordered online and got the order to go, it was ready on arrival. The was one of the spiciest things I've eaten! Yummy but be ready for the heat!
Great place for African/Ghanian food. Very neat place and staf, very nice and courteous. Highly recommend. Got my favorite Ghanian dish fufu and goat spicy light soup from there...at the end of my 5 day conference on Denver.
Food is bomb. Get the oxtail. Yum. Owners are helpful also if you're new to African food or unsure of what to order. The spicy is REAL spicy so beware. You can choose a mild version of all their dishes. Love this place.
