Agave Cocina Mexicana

I think I just don't have luck at restaurants named Agave. While the place looks cute, its lack of flavor (or just basic seasonings like salt) make this a place not worth visiting. I appreciate that there was Valet because there is limited street parking and their lot was small. My husband said the valet was rude, but I didn't witness it myself. We were a very large table, so while accommodating, service was very slow and we probably should've had two dedicated waiters vs the poor nice waitress who was completely overwhelmed. If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. Four of us met for a late lunch at the Queen Anne restaurant the day before Thanksgiving. It was my second time there, having visited once for happy hour and tapas. This was our first full meal, and we were happy we choose this inviting place. We made a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday night. They were able to accommodate us for our friend's birthday dinner. We show up and pull into the lot, only for the valet to wave us away without speaking to us. We had to park 4 blocks away. Service was extremely slow and our table ordered drinks early, only to get a weird look, but the drinks took forever! I really don't like that there's no pricing for the alcohol on the menu. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for Brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. I 've been here before a few years prior for dinner and it was meh experience and didn 't feel a need to return. My friend invited me to brunch and obliged but why not and I had a GREAT time! The music for starters when you walked in set the tone and it was a pretty good playlist! The brunch menu had a decent variety of options and I 've never had a Pancake Taco before so it was a no brainer for me! I went to this restaurant last night with some friends and it exceeded my expectations! I missed happy hour sadly, but the food and drinks were phenomenal! I ordered a Paloma and it was nice and strong, just how I like it. My main course was the Churrasco Marinero, which included skirt steak, shrimp in garlic sauce, rice, and black beans on the side. I ordered my steak medium and it was juicy and cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous, as you can see in the attached photo. Overall, it was a great experience. *Patrons be advised* food was amazing, drinks were good (we ate at the bar) BUT we received our check and then the bartender realized they forgot to add our second round, took the check back and added the 2nd round incorrectly. It was only then that we realized 20% gratuity was already added to the check, so we inadvertently tipped 40%. It was all straightened out, but it seemed a little sneaky.
