Three of us had Sunday brunch at the Agrarian. Although it was good, I wouldn’t call it great. Based on the reviews, we expected something much better.First, the positives…. The food was tasty and the interior is pleasantly, albeit simply, decorated. The restaurant also seemed very clean and is conveniently located. Their sourdough bread is first-rate.The negatives.... The brunch menu was very limited and the portions (we each tried something different) were small. Frankly, we all left a little hungry and didn't feel we got good value for our money. My first cup of coffee was lukewarm. I assumed this was just a fluke, but my second cup 30 minutes later was served the same way. The staff were...
Things started off great. We arrived very early, but the accommodating staff seated us immediately. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly promptly taking our order. Then things went downhill. Having both ordered big steaks and frites we did not order appetizers. We asked about getting some bread for the table and were told that they don't normally have it, but we could pay for some. That was fine with us. Unfortunately, the bread did not arrive until the steaks did. It was bread; 2 slices of luke warm bread that were reminiscent of toast at a diner that has been left sitting too long, oh and the butter was frozen such that it could not be cut with a knife. We were touring some of the wineries in PEC & thought we would try the Agrarian Bistro. Glad we made reservations as it was very busy for a weeknight. The staff were very helpful. I had the crispy shrimp appetizer - delicious! My husband had the cucumber & avocado salad - also delicious! We both had the seared scallops - amazing. My husband had the Waupoos Butter Tart - very delicious! This was our first visit to the Agrarian Bistro & we thoroughly enjoyed it! We can honestly say that the meaning of 'Agrarian' (Of or relating to farmers or their way of life), is indicative of the Agrarian Bistro's menu & atmosphere! Thank you for a fantastic meal!
We were able to get a table on Saturday evening despite not having made a reservation which was great. This is a quaint little restaurant with a limited but great menu selection. We chose the steak frites and a burger and both were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy and golden! We were too exhausted from our day of touring the wineries so we didn't stick around for the live music in the Speakeasy but are certain that it would have been a great experience as well! We were there on the rainy Friday of a long weekend. It was not very busy. Service was prompt and attentive. We had an interesting avocado salad instead of leafy green it is more like a guacamole and has tortillas chips on the side. My wife loved the wine local pinot grid from the Grange. She had seared scallops with organic greens. I had a 16 oz T bone steak. All were very nicely prepared. Live music was provide by a trio call Hayley and the Pirate Queens. Perfect evening!
Enjoyed a very nice dinner here. Great little restaurant with a warm, upmarket(but friendly) vibe. I had a burger with cheese and bacon that was exceptionally good. Paired it with a nice local wine which, yes, went extrely well together :) Our waiter was very personable and very attentive.I'd have given this a 5 eating but my wife had a salad that she rated as a "meh". Would definitely recommend going here... But perhaps pass on the salad :)
A small modern treasure with a varied menu and a great serving staff... I asked for recommendations and instead of recommending the most expensive dish, the server recommended a wonderful flavour extravagaza of local chicken (the farm is literally walking distance) with pan-asian flavourings -- yummy! My partner had pasta which was perfectly done and wonderfully flavourful.
We stopped here by chance on our way to our campsite and were absolutely blown away by the delicious cheese and knowledgeable staff! We managed to sample and purchase many varieties of cheeses here and could not get enough of the truffle Brie ! Definitely a must try ! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Been there three times. Usually, main dish is above average but they pay little attention to rounding out the dish and food value re price and portion size is not great.
