Aimee's Swine House

Based on all the glowing reviews, we tried this spot—I don't know if we caught them on a bad day or what, but this was a pretty big letdown in terms of expectation to reality. We dined with a kiddo, who really wanted pancakes. They were out (a breakfast spot should never run out of a few staples, and pancakes are 100% on that list). So we settled on French toast. My wife went with biscuits and gravy (honestly what I would order if I came back). I ordered the pigs in a blanket omelette, the waitress came back 5 minutes later and told me they're out of pork. The food took almost half an hour to come out and I think there were only like 5 total guests including us. I got the BLT which was supposed to come with schmear which I was most interested in, but there was none. Instead it was covered with way too much arugula. My mom got johnny cakes which were basically just pancakes with almost no cornmeal. Also came with no butter and barely any syrup which she had to request twice. Her meal was also supposed to come with apple compote which it didn 't. When she asked about it the waitress said 'oh, we 're out of apple compote '. We were driving on the way to Taliesin West and saw the Aimee’s Swine House restaurant sign and nearly crashed we were laughing so hard! So we had to look it up online and the menu was full of unique items so we had to come back and try. The food didn’t disappoint! We were given a delicious warm variety of muffins to start. We had and recommend the BLT with egg and the Huevos Swine House. The house potatoes were a mix of white and sweet potatoes and were cooked perfectly. They also had a tasty iced green tea! Right off Bell Rd delicious food. Large portions. Fast and friendly service. Had a party of 3 and enjoyed 2 large meals between the 3 of us. Their home potatoes are fabulous!!! Bacon is crisp so if your don’t like it that way ask for it not to be cooked crispy. Gave us muffins to eat while we waited for our food. Really glad we came here.
