This place was phenomenal! Food and service were beyond any of my expectations, and I definitely plan many more visits here. So let's go through this step by step, because it is definitely worthy to be highlighted. First of all, this was a recommendation from several people who talked about it, so I could say that we have to make a trip here. Great food. The beef broth in the beef broth noodles was delicious. If you like super flavorful foods, you might find the noodles a little bland. The pastry pancake thing had a great texture, perhaps a little heavy on the baking soda. The service was generally good despite the restaurant being obviously very busy and probably short staffed by a few people. If you have any sound sensory sensitivity, I wouldn't go at peak times as there's a lot of noise customers, phones, and staff. I would go back to try a few more of the items, e.g. breakfast on weekends looks legit.
Amazing as always. This time I got the jjia-jjang mian {black bean sauce noodles with minced pork), pan fried beef bun, cucumbers in spicy garlic sauce, and pork xia long bao (pork soup dumplings). Used to frequent this spot almost everyday when I lived in Costa Mesa. Now, if/when I'm nearby I make sure to go! Sad to see the other locations have all closed now and it's just the Irvine location. If anyone knows why, let me know. I asked and all I got was that the Irvine location was the busiest...ah, well, as long as I can get my grub on at an A&J I'm happy.
AYCE KBBQ. Waiting is long, but you can check in via Yelp. The service is good and the meat selection is as expected for the carnivorous meal you consume and digest in the next days. It will definitely be a meat heavy, high protein, and plentiful banana spread type of meal you should only have once in a while, otherwise I would ask how your intestine will be the incessant investment of red meat you consume in a session. Tip: Always ask for onions, mushrooms and garlic slices to improve the meat as it cooks.

We had a great time with the All You Can Eat menu. On weekends you can not get the cheapest menu, but $30 everyone was good, the meat was great, and the service was also great. Many Korean BBQs will be in service so that you don't get too much, but Shik Do Rak was attentive and brought us plates until we couldn't eat anymore. The short rib steaks are amazing.
The food here is great and fresh. All their dishes are excellent. We ordered the cold noodles (涼麵), which were incredibly refreshing on this hot day. I loved all their Japanese dishes as well. The service was faster and more efficient, and they take COVID precautions seriously. This is the real deal—authentic and delicious Taiwanese cuisine.
Love their handmade fat noodles (I think they were hand made? the fried pork chops were very tasty, much better than what we had in NYC few weeks ago. Wish the soup was a little more flavorful. I would imagine it would have been better if eaten fresh in the restaurant.
This place is packed with flavor. Look at the pictorial menu and order what looks good. They all taste authentic and great. There might be a line so get there early and parking can be tough so get there early.
