rio hacha is a beautiful small Colombian town for a day or two to visit, past and from tourist destinations in alta guajira of cabo de la vela and punta gallinas. but they would not expect to find something as exotic as large Arabic cuisine there and with vegan options, but at al arz, there are. I get the vegetarian plate version 2, which has a bit of everything (see pictures). also her yerba buena lemonade is excellent, which is really good with eating. if they were already one on the road in Colombia and wish a real shift from the limited regular vegan options in the country, al arz is a really welcome opportunity for a filling, nutritious and tasty meal.
The decoration is fast food style, the food medium and the service is simply terrible. You make order via your phone and after the order is the waiter comes to the table to check order items according to item. No napkins were supplied with food and when I asked for them, they were delivered by hand without safety protocol. The main dish was delivered and we had to order and wait for cutlery that was not delivered automatically. The rice was tasteless, the pitabrot stale, and the rest of the food was rather tasteless. Honestly, after two excellent meals here in Riohacha, this was a great disappointment.
there are several vegan/vegetarian options and they are clearly marked, so no long search. eating is delicious. I had a mixed vegetarian plate and could therefore try some dinge, they have on the menu. I loved everything except that the salad had something too much lemon. the part was big, but not for an empty vegan like the ambiente is in Arabic style and the personal is friendly and welcoming.

We were a group of 9 who spent the day in the sun. By the time we arrived we were quite hungry. Knowing food preparation might be a bit slow, we pre-ordered. We were not disappointed. Hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, salad, chicken kabobs, and baklava — delicious — and a nice break from the usual fare.
If you are looking for something different in Riohacha, then come to this restaurant. The Atlantic coast has a strong influence of these type of food and this is a great place to taste it. Shawarma are always good or you can try a mixed plate of Lebanese food.

Nice alternative to all the diffrent foods you can find in Riohacha, healthy options, nice drinks and good prices.. the falafel burgers are great !
