Al Duende - Tisch resevieren

There are several nice restaurants in Ceret, please don't choose Al Duende.We had passed this small restaurant with their cosy terrace several times before we sat down on the terrace besides the church in the old town. We had the Catalan menu, which is standard. The waiter, a young man, seemed confused by the guests, and on the neighbouring tables he both forgot to bring food, brought the wrong food and suddenly brought the check without the guests asking.We were patient as we awaited the main course (for the adults) and two childrens menu. After almost one hour (!!) the waiter came and asked what we wanted for dessert. Then he realized he had forgot all about us, and that the children still...

What's lovely little gem of a restaurant !!On a return visit to Ceret we noticed an advertisement Board for this little place which serves 'Menu Catalan'We decided to try it for our evening meal,& we were not disappointed.Unfortunately the Restaurant was not so busy, (unfortunate for those people who had dined elsewhere)it was a rather cold October evening, & the doors were open wide which just took away a little bit from our evening.. however....We ordered, my wife an entrecôte steak, I ordered confit Canard..The 'most delicious duck' I have ever tasted... Even after a few days just thinking about it still makes 'my mouth water' .Service is not the quickest you will ever experience, but eve...

We found this quaint cafe tucked away in a small lane near the church. It is delightful venue operated by a single lady who only speaks French. She was very patient with us as we needed to have the contents of the meals explained. The menu has a generous fish section (poisson) which was great. The flavours were exquisite and the white wine a perfect match. We had three courses and I can highly recommend the Creme Brûlée as the best I have tasted. This is an excellent French experience but your unwillingness pay the price of around 80 Euros for 3 courses for 2 people plus one litre of white wine. All worth it though. If it is busy you are likely to wait so be patient.

Just back from a superb meal in Al Duende. Yes, service was slow but that didn't matter as the company was good and we were in no rush. Octopus and cuttlefish are two dishes that are easily ruined. 30 seconds too long in the cooking and they become like rubber. We had both and to be quite honest I do not remember eating either of these as well cooked anywhere. We have booked to back this Sunday coming which will be their last night of the season as they shut down till April 2015. Al Duende; good honest Catalan cooking. Just go at their speed and accept their very acceptable eccentricities and a grand meal will be had. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The waiter took our order quickly but we didn't get our first course until about 45 minutes later, and the wine took as long!! My husbands starter was then wrong but by then he was so hungry he ate it anyway. The main courses were ok, mine better than my husbands, he had steak which was overcooked mainly because it was on the thin side. The rest of the meal came fairly promptly after that but I would give it a miss if I were you.

This little restaurant seems to be run almost single-handedly by a very pleasant but very harassed and overworked lady, and her elderly mum helps by bring erratically sliced bread to the tables.Our meal was pleasant, but became very prolonged as the restaurant got busier (understandably).Recommended if you don't mind delays at busy times.

Lovely location, nice rustic ambiance and friendly hosts. Finally, a good honest french restaurant that can deliver flavour! We visited on a dreary Sunday in September and it certainly cheered us up. (Sea food platter to share, steak, creme catalan & cheese, washed down with easy drinking rose)

Al Duende is our favourite restaurant in Céret, we always eat here on every visit. The food is fantastic - genuine local cuisine that's full of flavour. Just relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the superb freshly cooked local food. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

A little bit hidden you'll find this cosy restaurant. We had diner here and the menu with gambas and creme catalane were so delicious. The owner is a very friendly host and we enjoyed the evening at her place very much.

I ate dinner and breakfast here in the week while I stayed nearby, and my host really spoke about this place.
