I was very disappointed with al martino's when I dined here for dinner. My husband and I shared a pizza to start, we tried the Al Martinos special and I must say the pizzas are very nice and tasty. But then we got to our mains. I had the mushroom and "Panko" crumbed veal with a spaghetti cream sauce. Firstly, the schnitzel was not coated in a Panko crumb hence my inverted comas above, they were just normal breadcrumbs. Although it did taste nice the pasta was an extreme let down. We came here for dinner the other night with my in laws as they have been raving on about how good this restaurant was. We arrived at 6pm and we were the only ones in their to start with. The service was very good and our meals came quickly. We ordered garlic bread to start which was nice however the garlic wasn't cooked enough and still had a very strong raw taste to it, other than that is was delicious. Went to this restaurant on Mother's Day for dinner and felt very let down. Upon sitting down the restaurant was empty, yet we had to wait for the menus to be bought over No one came over to take our drink order so we ordered them with our meal. We ordered 2 glasses of the Rose only to be told they only had enough wine for one glass. My daughter ordered a glass of Pinot and was told they only had enough for half a glass. Really!!! This restaurant leaves me cold. I find it very average. However if you select pasta, risotto or pasta you could give their top dishes top marks.Their pizzas are very good.I unfortunately want more than their top dishes when i pay above the odds for a night out. My recent meal of ozzo buoco tasted like pre cooked veal leg chops reheated and covered with a tomato sauce that were introduced moments before being served. Awful.My dinner companions ordered and mixture of rice and pasta dishes and totally enjoyed it. Im sure some people enjoy al martino's, after all its been there for years.

This icon of Food Dining in Panania ( + 20 years) has slipped a bit over the past year or so. Service is still good but I fear the Chefs panic when its busy. Have been going to this Restaurant now for over 15 years and like any site has its good and bad days. I feel the food could be better for the prices they are charging and they really need to come forward to 2016 and improve their training of their Restaurant staff and do not skrimp on Pizza and Pasta toppings and plse ensure that ALL your cutlery is always clean
Al Martino's offer a good range of Italian dishes and a few that, I guess, would be classed as Continental- we happened to be there just as the new menu was introduced. Portions are certainly larger than most Italian places in Sydney. The fried squid was tasty, as was the fish and lentil dish. My only complaint about the food is that it was very salty. It also licensed but BYO is also OK. The atmosphere of Al Martino's is quite stylish and the service is professional and friendly.
Waited 20 minutes to order. After another 20 minutes, beer hadn't arrived. When asked was told they didn't have that beer. Brought us a pizza for entree which we didn't order - had ordered garlic prawns. They eventually came - not too bad. When mains came, salmon was raw and cold inside, steak was swimming in sauce. Will not bother coming here again! We are locals and have been here several times, but never again!
Wonderful find in sleepy Panania. Would have been a shame to miss this gem. Authentic Italian great flavours and superb service. The lasagne and gnocchi are excellent and serving size is good. This will become a regular

Been going to this restaurant for years and it is going down hill. Last visit was very disappointing. Service was slow, food was average. Waited for a very long time for coffee. Not going back!
I love Al Martinos and they have the best pizzas. I just find it a bit pricy. Look out for their weekly specials
