We ate here as a group of 18 people yesterday lunchtime. The meal was excellent and the service brilliant. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others. It is in an ideal position and easy to find beside the church. The area abounds in attractive villages such as Arnac-Pompadour, Segur-le-Chateau and St-Yrieix-la-Perche.Meal:Kir (or soft drink); a salad of roasted duck pieces served with chestnts in a salad; roast pork with potatoes lyonaisse, profiterole. The meal included house wine and coffee. The group paid just 20euro per person Excellent! :-)
Alain and Bridget own and run this small , family hotel and restaurant. They have two areas in which to eat. A small area beside the bar with large open fire ( 6/7 tables ) and a larger dining area mainly used at weekends. Alain is creative with his menus and it offers great value.If staying or eating at the hotel book in adavnce particularly at weekends as you may be dissapointed when there is no room.
Venu pour manger le midi, première et dernière fois, la terrine plus que moyenne, on sans la différence entre les assiettes des habitués et ceux de passages pauvre en quantité, morceaux de viandes les moins garnis le tout salé à souhait, le dessert de la veille sans vous prévenir réchauffer à tout va dans le micron onde, sans parler du prix de la pression 4 euros fut beertender, un seul mot à éviter
Warm welcome, delicious 3 course lunch (especially the duck pie and creme anglais) and great table wine. The owner took time to explain the menu options and service was quick without feeling rushed. Great big meals in a restaurant used by locals. Always a good idea to try a place where the locals eat. Amusing host who helped with explanation of unfamiliar dishes. I have a healthy appetite, but couldn't finish my main course, which was a shame, as it was delicious!
This is a nice little French restaurant came with a few of the workers from the company I was visiting Served quite quickly and the food was hot and tasted nice I'd definitely recommend coming here again for lunch
