Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. Love this place, a regular spot for me and my husband serving authentic Persian food at really reasonable prices (attention Tehranians: they’ve even got DIZI! . The grills are delicious and the stews are flavourful and nicely made. They even make their own bread, which is amazing paired with their super creamy yoghurt. The only thing to point out, they don’t serve alcohol; but on the plus side, you can take your own for a tiny corkage fee. The seating is limited too, so make sure you book on weekends.

Me and the Mrs went for a relaxed meal and had a great time. I ordered a traditional soup to start and we both had mixed grills. Thoroughly enjoyed the meals. I tried the yoghurt drink which is a speciality but think it wasn't for me. As many reviews have said you can take your own wine and they charge your a corking fee so worth doing.

Top Persian food, fresh tasty and great value. Probably best kebabs in Manchester, chops are top, lambs tongue is a must, cute staff loved the whole thing. Will be back
