I have been going to this Alfonso 's for as long as I could remember, but for a very long time, they are so inconsistent. Sometimes you get things from there and it 's great but most of the time, it 's just terrible. Stuff is stale, taste old or sour. Just barely edible. Recently I purchased a cheesecake from there for 27.99 and it was the case. It was sour and tasted just old. Was the only dessert I had for the night, and no one could eat it. I also got 2 semolina rounds, one of which was good but other was burnt. Tasted terrible. I was told I could come in and get store credit not a refund. When I got there with the cheesecake and the burnt bread I was told I would only be getting a refund...
Unfortunately , my visits at Alfonso's bakery have been less than subpar. The girls who work there are great .. the products they sell are not. This is the 2nd time my husband and I purchased a cake from there and it was terrible. Their goods are not fresh at all. The first cake we bought was a chocolate buttercream cake and the entire cake tasted like we were eating sticks of butter. We ended up throwing the entire cake out. Our second attempt was a sugar free cheesecake that grew mold on it after 2, ALMOST 3 days .. aka .. that was not fresh at all . When calling the bakery, the girl was kind enough to offer me a discount but i don't think I'll be taking it.Thanks anyway.Do yourself a favo...
Just left there getting bread for Easter Sunday. They open at 7am for holidays and there is always a line that starts usually 630 so be prepared to wait outside just to get into the store. The girls who work are very good though getting people in and out. Made it inside and taken care of maybe 715 the latest and only had 4 regular twisted loads of bread left. DO BETTER, especially at the prices you charge which are higher than any other bakery on the island. I'm sorry but how are you out of one of the top selling bread items 15 mins into the day on a busy holiday.
For the past 2 years I've been wanting an Elvis cake for my 50th birthday. My kids promised me my dream cake. My son went to Alfonsos on amboy showed them pix and told them exactly what I wanted. I had sent a cake request to Alfonso's with a specific Harry Potter vision and I was so ecstatic and amazed with the results. Every detail was just how I imagined it would be and not to mention, it was very delicious. If you want a custom cake, this is definitely the place to go!
My husband purchased lobster tail pastry this past Saturday and they were the worst I have ever had. The pastry is supposed to be crispy and they were soggy, and the cream was literally sour. It had turned bad. It's a shame that they would even sell it at that point.
I've been coming here for years and it’s always been a favorite of mine. Definitely try the rainbow cookies, or even the rainbow cookie donuts! All the cookies and pastries are delicious.
