This cabin style restaurant is nestled in midst of the Hahnenkamm ski slopes. It doesn't get more cozy; Austrian Gemuetlichkeit pure! We went there for lunch and ordered Kaesepaetzle (little homemade dumpling-like noodles with melted gourmet cheese) and Kaiserschmarrn (a shredded crepe-like pancake dusted with powdered sugar.) The Kaiserschmarrn was so light and fluffy, and the hint of butter taste so divine that we literally stole bites off each others forks. You get a choice of either apple or plum compote with it. Diese Woche machten wir zweimal Mittagspause auf der Melkalm. Beim ersten Mal waren wir von der Freundlichkeit des Personals und der Qualität des Essens überwältigt. Also nutzten wir die Gelegenheit und kamen ein zweites Mal zurück. Wir saßen sowohl auf dem Balkon mit herrlicher Aussicht als auch im Inneren (das offenbar erst kürzlich im Einklang mit dem lokalen Stil und der Tradition renoviert wurde). Wenn Sie im Winter oder Sommer auf den Pisten in Kitzbühel sind, ist Melkalm einen Besuch wert!
Had a welcome break for a coffee at the Melkalm in the midst of our snowshoeing session. It was nice to get the opportunity to venture to a Hütte that would normally be out of bounds to us non-skiers in the winter snow, and lovely to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy our coffee while taking in the gorgeous scenery. Service was very friendly and efficient....wish we could've sampled some of the local cuisine, however we only had time for a coffee!
I have never met a family in hotel and restaurant business that is so committed to service and quality of all they offer ... Fresh buttermilch for a drink ... As a vegetarian I was well taken care of ... Fresh portobello's .. All fresh from the mountains .. Great wines ... And it all is presented with the warmth of the family ... 3 generations keep this all together .. You can eat it, taste it, feel it, see it .. And I recommend to do so yourself

Excellent food - Family owned - and we know those people since 1989. Now the son joined the kitchen which we knew since boyhood and he fitted perfectly in.Here tradition of hospitality and quality is lived. And value for money in a fantastic scenery.Sometimes hectic and crowded, but hey, there is a reason for that.
Uns wurde dieser Ort empfohlen, also hielten wir Ausschau, als wir vorbeikamen. Wie andere schon gesagt haben: ein familiengeführtes, uriges Bergrestaurant, das frische, hochwertige Speisen anbietet. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es abends zugänglich ist, aber wir haben dort ein tolles Mittagessen genossen
If visiting the hahnenkamm a stop off is needed, this is it! Wonderful view with excellent sevice. If theres a seat outside free when you get there grab it quick ;) food is both delicious and presented beautifully.

Excellent and hot food friendly staff also improved dining area and if the sun shines it's good ski down to two chair lifts to work off the food
Fabulous spot. Views fantastic. Best goulash in the area. Worth a visiting. Its a pity that I only found it on my last day.
