A disappointing meal. For entree we had the fried haloumi and salad. Just a bunch of mixed lettuce leaves on a plate with the haloumi on top. No salad dressing, no other salad ingredients, just dry lettuce leaves. For mains I had the Chicken Antoinette. The chicken was ok but the prosciutto on top was so tough I couldn't eat it. Do chefs not taste what they serve? I am sure if a chef had tasted that prosciutto it would have went in the bin.Also there was no salt and pepper on our table. When I asked for some the girl came back with some salt and pepper sachets. Tossed them on the table saying she couldn't find any S&P shakers. I thought this a bit poor as we had booked this table in advance...
A friend, my husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. We started with drinks at the am bar - no eftpos available. Football on screens so the pre-dinner drinks atmosphere wasnt what we were looking for. The restaurant was relatively empty for a Saturday night maybe the reviews reflect why this is so. The meal was nothing out of the ordinary. My husbands oysters were average, the cheese and garlic bread was quite tasty,the rib and eye fillets were cooked very well and to our liking. Second time I came here. 1st time had the steak which wasn't too bad but the cashier wasn't very friendly and it took ages for the meal to get ready. Had take away today. The upside today, was the cashier was friendly even though she did charge me $3 extra but said they will have to fix the actual price on the menu. This is on top of the extra $1 she took for the take away container charge. Ordered beef ribs. Was the fattiest ribs I've ever had in my life. All fat and hardly any meat so had to chuck it out. Both times meals took an extremely long time to come and staff give u a blank look when u ask if the meal is ready. Way better restaurants in Mackay so chances are I'll never come back to...
I grabbed the american buffet one lunch, it's only on for two days so I'm not sure what it's like the rest of the time. The service was mixed. I ordered my lunch, the waitress pointed me to the plates, I grabbed some food, got to a table and there was no cutlery on any of them and no cutlery on the counter. I eventually grabbed the waitress and got that sorted. There were no labels on the food, much of it was fairly self explanatory, pizza, ribs, fried chicken etc. The chef was lovely. I went in at around 2pm and he offered to cook me some chicken and a slider which were both lovely, however other items in the baine marie looked a little sad and needed stiring to freshen them up.

My wife and I had the Wednesday night buffet roast and dessert. Absolutely fabulous!! Beef and pork carved by chef...marinated beef ribs (best!), rissoles, crumbed steak, roast assorted veggies and everything that goes with it.....in fact so much, I've already forgotten!! Desserts...everything, too many to mention. Wow, what a top place to eat in Mackay. Puts Sizzler to shame!
Wife and I called in for drink before having dinner. Unappealing decor, very blokey, sporty and gambling bar with the odd undesirable lurking around. Nice barmaid, very efficient and "run of her feet" at times. Remembered my initial order. TV screens all over the place all running sport. Wouldn't take Mum there
We went for a large table and received great service from staff attending many functions and other tasks, seated by a Chef but all done with a smile and happy to help out. Would return again
Went with family for the 2 for 1 meals. Food was great tasting and excellent value, and the staff (Daneel) gave fantastic service and didn't stop working. Great staff member to have.

Barrista coffee is extra but the buffet breakfast has extensive options that are well presented, yummie, and for under $20 a bargain :)
went here with the family before heading to the live music at the AM BAR, it was a good night and delicious food for good price.
