Over the course of a month, I repeatedly communicated with the staff to arrange for a special birthday cake, yet they refused to connect me with the new owner, which I found quite frustrating. On Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10 AM, I was given a cake that was meant for the celebration. However, when it came time to cut the cake at 12 PM, after all the planning and follow-ups, I quickly discovered it was frozen—contrary to what I was led to believe. I've been a regular at this restaurant since I moved to the area, and I absolutely adore all their cakes. I often buy them as gifts because they're so beautifully presented and elegant. I've tried their mango mousse cake, pies, tarts, and their special holiday berry cakes, and I've been impressed by the flavors and creativity of each one. The owner is incredibly sweet and always available to answer any questions I have. The only downside is that their croissants could be a bit larger; however, I highly recommend this place. Just a note: it can be a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it.
This charming French bakery in Barrington is truly a gem! It's quite rare to find authentic French bakeries in the suburbs, and I've cherished this one for years. I stopped by to enjoy a cup of coffee topped with their fresh vanilla whipped cream, which is among the finest I’ve ever tasted. The ambiance transports you to Europe, making you forget you're in the Chicago suburbs. Although I have a nut allergy and cannot enjoy their pastries due to cross-contamination, they always look magnificent. It’s a delightful spot that I always look forward to visiting!
My family has been coming here since they opened so it was only natural that they made my wedding cake. It was so amazing and I couldn't have asked for a more delicious and attractive cake! I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The server who attended to us was not only friendly but also had impressive sales skills. I was truly impressed. We ordered coffee and pastries, both of which were delicious. This is definitely a place I would return to, and I highly recommend it to others.
Prices are absolutely ridiculous for what you get. 2 ham and Swiss croissants and 2 chocolate croissants (quite small btw) for $25 with tax? Do yourself a favor and go to Deerfield’s bakery instead. EDIT: just went to Deerfield’s, got 6 large croissants for $3.25 EACH. Total was $22 with tax. Unbelievable.
There is a good desert or food for anyone at this amazing bakery. One of their best qualities is the cakes they make. They can make them for parties, weddings, and birthdays and they are so good. The cake inscriptions are so beautiful too!
