I really am not one to write a review but I was really disturbed today. Came here with my two boys. Ordered, sat down to wait on our food and it took 35 mins. We ordered a plain turkey sandwich and a croissant with chicken salad. Everyone was look around for there food waiting just as long as we were. It was busy but nothing crazy. What really bothered me was that the manager I'm assuming was walking around doing inventory!!!!! Not helping her staff. People were waiting FOREVER. She had no care in the world. Didn't stop what she was doing. Just walking around with a clipboard counting things while her staff were running around. I just don't understand. We could have went to a sit down restau...
We always seek out a mom and pop bakery when traveling, that we do often. I had read the reviews and thought that some of the reviews were a bit harsh. To shorten this up a bit we'll start with the positives. Good atmosphere although a little dated. Tables all dirty upon arrival. Pastry window was very appealing. Ordered chicken sandwich and French dip. Chicken sandwich wasn't as spectacular as we expected. The French dip was was delicious. On the way out we picked up a french almond pastry for $6. It was terrible. It was hard like a 3 days old and completely dried out and inedible. Very disappointed. This place may be iconic but it has lost something along the way.
While visiting Rock Hill we were looking for a good local coffee shop. We were so pleased to find Amelie’s French Bakery Cafe. The selection of baked goods was phenomenal. It was sooo difficult to make up our minds. So we found ourselves getting several selections. Each one was well baked and delicious. The quality was excellent in it all. They also have a very good tea selection and other cold and hot drinks. My hot latte was made just right. This location is in an old bank and has a wonderful eclectic atmosphere of decorations and architecture. The old bank vault is very cool! This will always be a stop for us whenever we are back.
What a delightful place! Quirky yet elegantly decorated. In an old bank. Unfortunately there is only 1 person to take your order and it seems like everyone in line had questions. The food came out pretty quick and was very good. The bacon was amazing. The dark roast is pretty strong. The strawberry something lemonade was really sweet. The worst excuse for French Toast I have ever had. See the photo I have included. They literally toasted sandwich bread in a toaster (no egg batter was used) and served it with powdered sugar and syrup. Terrible.
If you have a sweet tooth, this is your place. The coffee was not bitter. The breakfast burrito was dry and needed something. No room for a treat today. I’ll be back many times.
The croissant sandwich okay. The coffee in my cappucino was really nice, but the cappucino itself wasn't made well. Service and atmosphere were great otherwise.

The pastries are awesome, but the brewed coffee is frequently sold cold.
