The mussels with linguini were wonderful. As for the tiramisu, it was good, but it had too much almond flavor and lacked the coffee taste for my liking. I prefer it with just a hint of coffee."

Firstly, the hospitality at this restaurant is outstanding. Our server was both friendly and attentive, which truly elevated our dining experience. The atmosphere was charming and welcoming, nicely enhanced by some delightful Italian music. As for the food, it was merely average. The calamari was lacking in flavor, though I did enjoy the marinara sauce that accompanied it. My spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs was rather bland and poorly seasoned; even adding salt didn’t help much. On a positive note, my husband liked his veal and salad, and the soup and bread were quite enjoyable. We might think about returning in the future, but there's no urgency.
From the beautiful music (with many Italian lyrics) to the couples from New York and New Jersey at the next table (I love those accents), you can tell you’re in for an authentic Italian dining experience in Charleston. The wine was delightful, the bread was fresh and served hot with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar on every table, and the waitstaff were extremely attentive (no request goes unanswered). If you’re looking for fresh, homemade pasta and soup, along with a lovely atmosphere, this is the place to go. While you’re there, please raise a toast and say a prayer for my safe travels!
They seated us promptly, as they claimed they would, but it took 45 minutes for our dinners to arrive. The Veal Parmigiano was tough and burnt, and to make matters worse, it was cold. We asked if we could switch the spaghetti noodles for penne or another bite-sized option, but were told they couldn't accommodate that because it would upset the chef. Really? Just changing the pasta? We also ordered the meatball sliders, which were okay but not particularly impressive. Each meal came with two small rolls, and when we requested extras, we were charged an additional $2. Overall, I am very disappointed. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The hospitality at this restaurant is exceptional. Our server was warm and attentive, making us feel welcome. The atmosphere is charming and inviting, enhanced by lovely Italian music in the background. However, the dinner was somewhat disappointing. The calamari lacked flavor, though we appreciated the marinara sauce that accompanied it. My spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs was bland and needed seasoning, even after I added salt. On a positive note, my husband enjoyed his veal and salads, and we both liked the soup and bread. While we may return at some point, there's no urgency for us to do so.
This is your classic Italian restaurant, adorned with paintings of Italy and the smooth sounds of old blue-eyed crooners in the background. Fortunately, the food is delightful, starting with freshly baked rolls, which is always a good indication of quality. I followed that up with an excellent Caesar salad and a fantastic chicken piccata. If I had any room left, I would have loved to sample one of the desserts. My only small complaint is that my side plate wasn’t perfectly clean.
My wife and I dined at Amici on Saturday, April 23rd, and we had a fantastic experience. We started with the homemade sausage and mushroom soup, which was exceptional. For our main courses, we ordered both the Veal Amici and the Kalbsmarsala, topped with melted provolone cheese and served with handmade pasta. To cap off our meal, we enjoyed a cannoli and chocolate cake. Everything was outstanding, and we plan to eat there every time we visit the Charleston area.
I found the food at this restaurant to be disappointing and overpriced. The Roman chicken had an odd taste resembling that of a cigar, rendering it inedible. The eggplant was overcooked and lacked any real flavor. To make matters worse, there was a convenience fee for using a card, which I have never encountered at any other restaurant before. I haven't had the chance to visit in some time, but it's still exceptional! The food is absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The waitstaff are helpful and attentive, ensuring that everything meets your expectations. If you're in search of an authentic, locally-owned Italian restaurant, this is a must-visit!
