This place is a strange one. The hotel it is a part of is beautiful, has a great atmosphere, and all staff are very friendly. Unfortunately the descent into the restaurant is where it starts to unravel slightly. The menu is currently a QR code to be browsed on your phone, which is fine, but ordering was a complete disaster. My wife picked out 3 separate main courses from the menu which they were out of understandable given the current situation the UK is faced with but why not mention this when we sat down? Same with the drinks. There is no point in directing us to a menu if nothing on it is accurate. The food when it did arrive was absolutely nothing special and suffered from the usual airp...
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Did not have the white wine we ordered, so brought a warm bottle of alternative wine, should have tried it first, was a screw top so didn’t bother, but didn’t think they would serve a warm bottle of wine...my wife and I ordered a pizza and burger to share. Pizza was good, if you do take the plunge and eat here, go for the pizza...the burger was rubbish which is putting it politely, someone on here suggested going to McDonald’s for a burger instead and I would whole heartedly agree, chicken over cooked, cold oven pride chips for £15 ...they didn’t ask how the meal was and my wife didn’t want me to complain as it’s the start of our holiday, but good thing our holiday c...
We were made welcome in Amy's bar (upstairs by Hilton reception) from the moment we arrived until when we left. Huge thanks to Hugo and Zain who ensured we were happy and always had drinks and food when needed. Special thanks to Hugo though who took a genuine interest in where we were going and also gave us recommendations and tips when we asked and very helpful they were. We saw them talking to and helping everyone in the bar, they were going above and beyond, creating a welcoming and happy environment. We look forward to returning.
We had dinner and an overnight stay here prior to taking an early flight the next day. We enjoyed our food ham hock terrine, fillet steak, lamb rump with a very nice bottle of South African Pinotage. The service was OK, but not exceptional. We ordered drinks before dinner which we wanted to enjoy before eating and the waiter kept coming back and asking us if we were ready to order. We always enjoy a leisurely meal and do not like to be rushed. The restaurant was not very crowded so there was no reason to try and hurry us along. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Very proactive staff looked after us well, and the food was excellent. With no Executive rooms or Lounge available due to refurbishment, the Hotel offered a very generous voucher for drinks and a limited range of food items free of charge. I had to pay for my chicken Caesar salad but it was well worth the money as I rate the Hilton Caesar salad, and my wife had a very enjoyable panini. The Bar is now much better run than it was in the past, and it was a very pleasurable experience. Highly recommended.
I was on a work trip and had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The steak was cooked incorrectly and when I had to wait for 20 minutes for a freshly cooked one, it came out wrong again. The staff had poor table etiquette, clearing the table while I was still eating and even ordering dessert for the table while I was still finishing my main course. For a restaurant in a 4-star hotel, the service was unacceptable. The staff really need to improve their table and service skills.
With staying in the hotel we decided to have dinner in the bar/restaurant, big mistake. The prices are reasonable given the location, however, the food was poor! Steak overcooked and a mouldy tomato with the rib eye. The pizza was apparently “okay”. But they did remove the service charge. Of which I probably would have not paid anyway, as contrary to their belief, this is discretionary. My advice is go to KFC.
This restaurant is simply not worth the high prices they charge. There is no ambiance, the staff are unprofessional, the food is average at best, they don't offer a good selection of beer, and the wine list is unimpressive. Save your money and opt for a pub instead. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
During our two-night stay at the Hilton in Gatwick, we had the pleasure of spending time at Amy's Bar with Zain. He was incredibly accommodating and delightful to us, making our experience welcoming and enjoyable. Zain truly deserves a significant promotion!
