Service is terrible—this is the second time that we tried to go to Andiamo in Bloomfield and they disappointed us AGAIN. We are frequent diners to Andiamo Riverfront in Detroit and wanted to dine outdoors and decided to try Bloomfield The first time we made a reservation and when we arrived there, everything was closed snd we called. The manager answered and told us that “ the power went down” and the staff called everyone who had reservations to let them know. I indicated that we did not receive a call and how we had driven from the city specifically to dine here. His response was “ yes, well.. I lost thousands of dollars in orders tonight, so imagine how I feel” The next time was last week...
The whole evening felt very rushed and loud. They close at 11 and our reservation was at 8:45. We left at 10 because they kept asking us if we wanted a box or the bill or whatever it was until we finally said yes. In addition, the restaurant was extremely loud. There was a woman singing and you would think she would be singing soft music because it’s a classy italian restaurant but nope, she was singing fast songs from the 80’s or whatever generation and the volume was so loud and obnoxious to the point where I could not hear the person dining with me speaking. The only highlight was the pleasant chef who made our pasta table side.
our waiter was inexperienced and it showed. Bread not on the table until we asked (after the entree was served). He brought the entrees while we were still having our soup/salads. He then said he would keep them under the warmer until we were ready. sounded like the food would get dried out while waiting. I had mentioned on a prior visit that the Casear dressing was a little heavy and forgot to request lite dressing but it was better (still a bit much) this time.
Appetizers and bread were cold but enjoyable. Sides were very good. We ordered the Roman Alfredo pasta but they did not have the cheese wheel table service. Instead they gave us fettuccine Alfredo that tasted like powder. The veal ragu was not hot at all, and the sauce did not taste fresh but old. Very disappointed because we had high expectations.
The food was delicious and the Bailey’s coffee and the carrot cake for dessert. The server was very nice and went out of her way, and took care of all of our needs and the atmosphere was very nice. Music was nice quiet and pleasant.
Great job by Lea. She was great . Great job by all and it was me and my wife’s 22nd wedding anniversary. Great job Lea, made us feel at home.
Enjoyed the salmon special and each of the other entres were prepared well...excellent experience in all ways..
The food and service are always great, that why we celebrated our 54th anniversary there!
