Located on a busy and amid a lot of very good dining places on 17th Ave, this restaurant comes highly regarded and with good reason.When trying a new place, we typically go for the small sharing plates since this gives us the chance to see how wide the kitchen's expertise spreads. We visited today with another couple for brunch. We arrived at 11.15 on a Saturday and it was pretty empty inside. However, it looked clean and inviting and we were seated right away and offered water. We ordered coffees which arrived quickly too.Our server was attentive and prompt and we pondered the menu for around 5 minutes before ordering. My teens took me here for an early Mother's Day special outing. We enjoyed a casual atmosphere with a nicely appointed menu. Our favourite dishes were the brussel sprouts, & Oxtail tortellini. All the plates were wonderful so we ended up ordering all the desserts on the menu, just to try them all. This place is amazing great food great atmosphere and if you get Jessica as a server you have done well. She is amazing, she made the nite, very knowledgeable, patient and funny, knows her stuff and knew exactly what we would like and not enjoy for a party of 7 women, tough crowd but she was amazing. The manager was a delight as well he got us in and made it a fun nite. We are all still talking about it as it was our first visit there. Highly recommend this restaurant, the patio looks great too we were on the restaurant side and that was nice too....
We had a business lunch here today. The restaurant was quiet and casual setting but the pricing was anything but.First of all, if you are looking for Korean BBQ, then go somewhere else, this is Korean fusion...It's a tapas style ie small plates to be shared. We had poke, which was really good, but a small amount of sushi grade fish.One of my companions had the halibut, and it took forever to come out, long after our dishes, and then they substituted salmon without asking first? Not real impressed with that.
We went for a family dinner on Tuesday evening. We spent almost $200.00 for 3 people. When I went to use the ladies bathroom, there was water all over the floor mixed in with toilet paper. There was a strong odour of urine and feces. The sinks were dirty and the mirrors unclean. When I went to advise the manager, he gave me a curt apology and said they had water issues, and that was all. Horrible customer relations. Would not ever go back or recommend. Makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is.
Amanda is one of my favourite servers there, and the mushrooms on toast with a perfectly poached egg will be my forever craving ....sooooooo good. Also, the Ramen Caesar is tasty, as well as the house brew or beer. YUM.
