I live near this restaurant but had not been there before. While sitting down, the waiter accidentally spilled water on me. Oh well, accidents happen. I was there for the delicious food, so I decided to order some appetizers instead of a full meal. I was blown away by how tasty everything was, making me crave more immediately. The prices were very fair considering the generous portions and high quality of the food. I can't say it's perfect, but it's definitely worth a visit.
I ate here literally 6 or 7 years ago. I had one of the best meals in my life, I still think about it. It was a Vegan Portobello Burrito. I'm an omnivore but it was delicious. I literally check the menu once a year to see if you brought it back and you haven't. So, bring back the Portobello Burrito, let me know and I will literally drive the 3 hours it takes to get there and order it again.
Great little corner establishment. Opened at 4pm on Saturday. Food was pretty good. Southwest risotto was a real risotto and the Mac and cheese was homemade but what really made this place special was the classic music and the great artwork everywhere dedicated to Poe and Baltimore. The wait staff was on point with keeping up drinks and conversation (tavern style : . I loved it.
As a literary nerd and appreciator of small bars, I cannot say enough good things about the Annabel Lee Tavern. Nice vibe. Great cocktails, tavern fare, and service. Delightful EAP theme. This restaurant is a hidden treasure with delectable cuisine and a distinctive atmosphere that would be appreciated by fans of literature. The duck fat fries are absolutely amazing. I revisited this place after my initial visit in 2014, and it still possesses all the charm one would expect from Charm City.
It was a neat local place. We came from Virginia and because of Google, we went there once and they were still closed (2pm) and a second time they were no longer serving food and closing shortly after we got there (9:15). We never got to try the food but drinks and bartender were great.
Crab cakes are my favorite food, so whenever I order them I always feel anxious about how they will taste. But when I'm in Baltimore, I know I have nothing to worry about. Annabelle Tavern serves the best crab cakes I have ever tried. I can't wait to come back for more. So delicious!
